As of 1/9/16, we don't make the cut.

I've been saying this from the beginning - Rand should do a Lincoln-Douglas style debate schedule with Sanders, it would be far more interesting and substantive than the sound-bite competitions that pass for debates these days.

I still want a mock debate that uses clips of other politicians running or not running paired with Rand's response/opinion on the subject on several key issues that voters care most about. Almost like one of those mock interviews that they do on satire shows with clips of people "responding to their questions". I have seen a few poorly done ones, but short 7 second clips that can keep peoples attention.

I would like to see Rand live stream with the debate playing behind him.
He could watch and when a question is asked, he can mute the debate and respond.

He would get to answer every question and could also provide commentary :D about the debate for laughs.

Surely this would get reported on, and they would have a choice of any of his answers to use as sound bites.

Hashtag #DumdassDebates

He should just show up at the debate and go on stage like Reagan (I think it was him) did and five them to let him be there

Rand tried to be something to everyone and will end up not being voted for by anyone. Maybe now after THREE failed election attempts the Pauls will dump their political advisement team.

Voting hasn't started yet

Bernie is leading Clinton in NH...I don't think he'll risk that.

Rand said on two different interviews this week that polls coming out this week would put him on the stage. But at the end of the day, the debates never helped Rand with poll numbers beyond his own base. No matter how great he was, the pundits ignored him and focused on stupid stuff.
If he sits this one out, and Ron hits the trail as Audit the Fed is on the floor of the Senate, I think Rand will stand out and the others can blast away in their circular firing squad.

Eschew the undercard debate.

Go up against Sanders on another channel same time, way higher ratings.

Cause a giant ruckus, and have an intellectual 1 vs 1 debate on the issues.

^THIS. You don't even need Sanders, although it would liven things up if he were invited to join him. But if not, just have Rand take the same questions being asked at the debate, while commenting on the others. He should buy prime time on CW or even MSNBC to counter the debate itself. This would be dealing with (or canceling out) a prime time shut out with strength, or like a boss.

CPUd is always right. (MrNoSmile, do you ever smile? Why play the blame game.) It's the polling....those things are always rigged. Plus the media black out is for real. After the last debate, when Rand literally won the debate (even sauerkraut thought so), the media basically did not talk about him. Kelly Paul mentions this in one of her interviews; how she wanted to throw something at the tv because they were talking about everyone but him and he had been the shining star. This is how they, the media, manipulate the viewers. In spite of people saying they hate the media and the media is biased, they are still directly impacted by it. Maybe it is unconscious but then of course most people are unconscious most of the time. Notice, they then give Rand all of these interviews but only after the initial impact has faded and they have convinced the viewers that he is really not even worth talking about. They did the same thing with Ron. He got tons of interviews when it didn't count and they had already degraded his viability. Same old same old and it seems that most people never figure it out.

He won the debate in whose eyes? The eyes of the media as a whole or the eyes of the people on Ron Paul Forums? Fiorina, Rubio, Christie, how often have we been told that they won debates, but they aren't polling in first place right now. Is there a bias towards Paul? Of course, but that doesn't absolve him of the fact that he's not currently polling high. If he was, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

What was the point of this goddamn thread? We will see if Rand is on stage (or not) eventually so whats with the negativity?

Yeah we would, it would just be the other way around. If Rand had high poll numbers then the establishment would move the goal post and say that polls don't matter. Just like they did with CPAC, just like they did with Iowa straw poll. They put a priority on national polls so Rand's camp focused on running a national campaign and the early state polls went down, now they are putting more focus on the early primary states saying that if Trump doesn't have a top 3 showing then his support is artificial and doesn't matter. They will always move the goalpost and we will always be having this discussion on one merit or another.

Sanders vs Rand on CNN or MSNBC at the same time gets the entire Dem audience, Every talking head would rather be watching Rand vs Bernie.

A big network would do it just for the ratings the shitstorm would bring.

The idea isn't to piss on the GOP debate, but do something more interesting entirely that cant be ignored.

Polling high where? The only polls that count are the caucuses, right?

Caucuses are kind of weird. They don't reflect voter opinions but more your organization though they can give your campaign a bump. Ron Paul got most of the delegates from Iowa in 2012 (22 out of 27) despite actually finishing third in the voting there.

Caucus systems are designed to prevent a pure democracy, so those more knowledgeable about the candidates are the ones who cast the binding votes.
