IMO, it's a great idea especially since I have heard RP speak several times of MLK and Ghandi in the same breath when he speaks of "peaceful revolutions".

Whatever communist crap ya all are buying was nothing more than the same smear machine being used on MLK that is being used on RP today.

MLK is the American LEADER and SYMBOL of nonviolent protest. Nonviolent protest is the Ron Paul Revolution. We are protesting the corruption of our government, and donating our money along with our vote to someone who will change all that; Ron Paul. A money bomb on MLK Day is an amazing idea, and I completely support it.

I like it...

But I think for the 21st of January, the Theme should have been focused on Florida Republicans, and some of the major states primaries that will be voting soon after.

Something like this will get 10 times more Media coverage than the Boston Tea Party.

I think a HUGE march should be planned to go along with this date, and event.

I have a feeling that those who say they don't participate will once they see that a lot of other people will.

In my opinion, it's too soon to tell. Dr. Paul has the money, what he needs is that VOTES in those early primary states. The Campaign has the cash to stay active till Super Tuesday... the priority I think should be getting people to the ballot box.

I think there is a danger in thinking that the campaign has "enough" money. If we stop donating, the MSM could spin it and say that RP has lost his financial support. The more money, the better. They can use it to HELP get out the vote.

It would be weird if we had another moneybomb around the date of MLK day, but didn't do it on MLK day. I think that would look bad.

this poll is worded poorly. It shouldn't be if I'm going to participate, it should be if we think its smart to use Martin Luther King Jr. as our symbol this time around.

Will you participate or do you think its a bad idea... well I like moneybombs, so i'll participate, but i still think using mlk as the symbol is too divisive and is a bad idea.

IF this is a route the movement goes, I would have the leadership of the event contact the NAACP and the Dr. King Foundation. The African-American Community might take this as trying to use Dr. King for personal gain. Not saying not to do it just because of that, but at least bounce the ideas off of them.

The media may be calling them about it if it gets any coverage and I don't think they need to be surprised on this one.

Well, the reason I worded it that way was because nobody can PREVENT somebody from just setting up a website and calling for a moneybomb. Now that people have been informed of it, some people are going to donate money on MLK day. I wanted to poll how many people are going to do that. The grassroots isn't centralized. And that's a good thing IMAO.

But i can actually see your argument. I wouldn't mind if there was a poll that asked if it was even a good idea in the first place.

This is a bad idea. Good intentions, but a very bad idea. Don't kill votes being dumbasses.

I don't think we have to prove that Dr. Paul is not a racist. I know more than one black person who are RP supporters. The racist stuff is being spread around by operatives of the other campaigns.

No one with any credibility has called Dr. Paul a racist. Let's just let sleeping dogs lie.

Also, I think some of us are getting carried away with money bomb fever. I will donate to the Paul campaign one more time before Dec 31st. After that I will focus my effort on putting his name where ever anyone can see it.

Personal gain? wtf. Donating to a man who wants to restore freedom and equality and who is part of a nonviolent revolution, on the same day that commemorates another man who had a dream of freedom and equality, and symbolizes nonviolent revolutions in America- would be done for "personal gain?"

I don't get it.

I don't think we should concentrate or worry about money bombs until after the Iowa Caucus. Any money we have laying around right now should go straight to the PACs that are running television ads.
