Is anyone bored with the depressing echo chamber dog killing? We still need the news posted, but I wish we could focus on more information spreading to the opposite "team" and less ad-hominem attacks than shit that depresses me worse than Sarah Mclaughlin

I want RPF to argue with Democratic Underground...or something. Real money could be in play for the winning team. Paid in Bitcoin.

I'm not sure how something like that should be judged or decided upon though.

I'll do it

Fuck yeah.

Need someone that can write rules for how this should work. Doesn't need to be too complicated though. We just instigate and fire up a conversation?

Would have to get into the trenches and create usernames on their forums. And they would have to sign up for RPF as well.

LOL! What a brilliant idea! I think they would ban us though. Anyone have an account over there and give this proposal? And maybe negotiate a set of rules.

I've been banned from DU at least four times. I had one username going for over a year, though. The moment I mentioned Ron Paul, however, it took less than 15 minutes to be banned. There's really no point in arguing with and in their echo chamber - if you want to participate in the information war, head over to popular news sites and join the comments sections there. If you really want to argue with lefties in particular, there's HuffPo.

Who decides who won the argument? Polling on each forum?

Create your usernames.

I don't know of any media platform that would entertain such a thing but I'm keeping my RPF user name.

Polling is always rigged though. Too much tinkering with polls and you never have good data.

If offered Bitcoin for winning they might be willing to create a username over here on RPF. They could create polls on their own circles somewhere and the two get averaged.

Just need some way of extending the invitation.

HP now requires phone verification. I stopped posting there when that happened, I'll have no part of their tomfoolery.

The other thing is who gets to pick the subject for debate? I can't begin to say how tired I am of the romper room "issues". It's almost sad.

It might be fun trolling over there, but we have enough of them visiting RPFs. :)

Interesting concept. An exchange of ideas through honest debate could be useful as well as stimulating.....that is....as long as we don't let it turn into a war. Would need heavy moderation of the rules.

I wouldn't do it for a prize or anything. I'd do it just to do it though.

You know how this ends, right?

Each side will be convinced their side is the victor. And little will be accomplished.

It could be nice entertainment, though. Especially, for those that are entertained fighting with each other in here.

I was always thinking of a 3rd party buddy system or adopt a green/libertarian program.

Most people say they'd vote 3rd party but feel it's a wasted vote. If a conservative/liberal teamed up with the other promising to vote their conscience VS lesser of two evils we might get more people voting their conscience without fear of throwing away their vote because they are guaranteed someone with an opposite view is voting their conscience as well.

Mixing of ideas is cool. I wouldn't mind debate, but make sure they are debaters, not trolls.
