Are Ron Paul Donations Now Dropping?

Before money bomb 1, we were plugging away and $100,000 in a day was a good day, and there was only one or two days that were $150,000+. The average was about 70K per week.
Even if the money bombs skimmed $50K per day from people who would normally give now, but they are holding their money (it isn't btw) That is $1.5 million between now and Dec 16th. We do need constant funds coming in (and they are) but the possible $1.5 million maximum cost is going to pay for itself many times over not only in funds raised on that day but media attention from the Tea Party.

I think it will be a huge success on December 16- Tea Party day. Just recall how hugely shocked the media was after the last Money Bomb. It garnered a huge amount of free publicity in the media for days. And I think Jack Cafferty loved it after listening to his remarks. I also think Lou Dobbs loved it since he is now an Independent.
There seem to be a few media types like that who were just less than gleeful over those numbers, but naturally they were subtle.
If we have a huge day again, it is going to bother a lot of people in several campaigns. They even now are probably scrambling to figure out how they can take advantage of the internet the same way. The difference is this: They would have to have a very strong and committed group of followers like Ron Paul, and I personally suspect their followers online will not match up to what Ron Paul's army is, at least not with their purses.
Thirty-seven thousand people in a day is phenomenal! Dr. Paul has a very committed following who <<<strongly>>> believe in his message. I believe all the other candidates are less magnetic than he is and frankly boring. Dr. Paul makes news. When Paul speaks everyone listens, because he creates excitement-good and bad, naturally, but the media is starving for big news and it is not coming from their candidates. They are all bogged down in petty bickering and petty issues. None of them is talking about the big ticket items with any huge conviction. And the dumbed-down media thinks it is asking tough questions, but when have you heard any media ask about the Federal Reserve or eliminating any government. It is just the same old boring questions is it not? There is such a thing as too much publicity. I believe most of the other candidates are already over-marketed and many viewres are not really hearing or listening that much. Unfortunately for the media, they are forced daily to try to make news where there is no news, but they have to force the news anyway. See what I'm saying? Dr. Paul will be fine if he is not constantly on the air, but still gets enough air time that cause Americans to take notice. At least for now. So maybe Dr. Paul; is better off for now dropping these money bombs just in time to stir thing s up. Then around primary time we blitz!!! We hit them with the SDI money bomb. Just wait- it could happen that way. LOL
If we drop a bomb in December at the Tea Party, the media will go crazy!!! First of all they are dumbfounded by the concept of grassroots efforts achieving such a goal. And all of them cannot quite understand it because they are in that old-fashioned mentality of the the same two parties offering the same old solutions. Frankly, I think the media loves having something big to report. They are already bored with their own candidates. <smile> People who watch the usual network and cable news are bored, too. They will be intrigued by a sudden big election news day item. And the media, some grudgingly, will have to report such big news, as they once again try to figure out the puzzle of how are we doing it. LOL
So yes, let us hope that everyone is holding back until December 16 when we make history again. The publicity is worth millions.

Look at what is happenig in just these five days (assuming the pledgers are all legitimate). The word is spreading and some of the visitors to the site are watching the figures-me for one. If only 500 people a day sign up, that would be 15,000 in 30 days. But I think the figures will go up exponentially as the final days approach. No one who knows will want to miss out on the big event.

As much as I love the Tea Party and the attention it will bring, why doesn't anyone mention the more tangible impact?
On December 16, the campaign will be 2-1/2 weeks away from the Iowa caucuses. Also on 12/16, almost every ad slot will be booked by businesses looking to take advantage of a captive audience at home for the holidays. The money raised from the Tea Party won't be able to be used until sometime after the New Hampshire primary, and will probably have little impact on South Carolina.
There are still so many people in Iowa who don't know who Ron Paul is ... yesterday I spoke with a knowledgeable friend of mine who lives in Iowa City, and he had never heard of Ron Paul. And this is someone who pays attention to politics more than the average person!
Love the Tea Party, but it sure would be great to have as much money as possible in early December to spend in the Hawkeye State. Just my $.02.

I feel a little bit better after reading some of the thoughts on this thread. I think he will be able to continue to raise very significant money, and then use it to good effect.

Generating money on dec 16 will generate free publicity. Also, it gives us all a reason to donate and to those that would normally not donate.
Keep giving
We did okay after Nov 5th -- raising another million in the next 8 days after that from the spillover publicity, but the fundraising is really low now.
Please don't just save up everything for December 16th. Make that a big day, but keep giving now, if you can afford to. The campaign can't wait a month, and we can't just tread water while the other campaigns move forward.

Some people on the forums are targeting November 30th for a mini-bomb. Everyone worried about donations being low can pitch in then, or even better -- today.

I think this is the most significant. And when I think about the timing, December 16, it's just about right imo.
This sense of anticipation is great. For the supporters its really a point to work towards. As a sort of "day of battle". Building the momentum. In terms of campaigning, though it is spontaneous, its really a brilliant strategy when you think about it. A major marker before the primaries.
In the mean time I don’t think RP or HQ has any worries about money.

Folks, we are *absolutely fine*. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. If we worry about an inevitable donation slow-down between now and December 16th, we'll end up diluting December 16th. The weak 9 Million total we had on December 15th will be *totally irrelevant* when we have 19 Million come midnight of the 17th.

It's closing in on $8.6 million for the quarter. That's not bad.

So think of it this way: Even if the campaign raises very little during the next three weeks or so, if everyone dumps cash BIG TIME for the tea party it will be almost as good as having "matching funds" for your contribution.
Let's be positive. The number of people signed up for the Nov. 5th fund raiser were at about 17-18K on November 4th, weren't they?
The Tea Party is at 17,285 as I write this on November 19th.
We still have almost a month to go, and people are STILL signing up by the hundreds as word gets out.
And I know for a fact that a lot of people are going to be contributing more - in some case, MUCH more - than $100 for the Tea Party.

That sort of fund raising feat will almost guarantee Dr. Paul a shot at some national TV time on news and talk shows - again, the sort of exposure it would take a lot of money to buy.
