Apple cider vinegar. It's sort of amazing.
I started using it a couple weeks ago to treat reflux and heartburn from my spicy cooking. I googled some home remedies and ACV came up as a cure. Two tablespoons diluted in a large glass of water. It worked instantly and I continued using it because it seemed to give me a nice energy boost, and it was touted to have other health benefits. It also worked one morning when I had some nausea from a crazy night out the night before. I also stopped getting caffeine cravings and headaches (though I still have a cup of joe every day, just not four).
I continued taking it before meals as a digestion aid, two or three times a day. I felt less bloated after meals, and my cravings for junk food all but disappeared. A week later I caught myself getting dressed in the mirror and was pretty impressed. I wasn't eating or doing anything different (no exercise) but it appeared I was losing weight. My pants were fitting looser. I had heard about it for weight loss but was pretty skeptical.
Fast forward another week, and my gut is shrinking before my very eyes. I haven't changed my diet except for taking 2 tablespoons of ACV, diluted, before each meal. Today I tried on some old pants that have never fit me correctly. Last month I struggled to get them buttoned. Today, THEY FIT!
I'm also sleeping less, and better. I don't crave alcohol or caffeine like I used to. I'm losing weight and have more energy. All I can say is that something must have been out of whack in my body, and ACV is doing something about it. The best explanation I have found is that it lowers the pH in your small intestine, which decreases the amount of insulin released.
So there it is. I'm highly skeptical of most "cure alls" but it appears ACV is legit. Anyone else have experience with this amazing stuff?
