AOL - "Ron Paul says Lincoln was wrong to fight the Civil War. Do you agree?"

I've been thinking about this, and I really don't think there has been much damage done here. The whole event is an unfortunate distraction from the real issues of this presidential campaign, but I think most Americans are doing their holiday things this week and not really engaged in this debate at all. People that support RP were not lost. We probably gained a few supporters among Civil War buffs. True, this will probably not boost our numbers in Iowa and NH, but I don't think we, or anyone else, are going to surge in the next few days. Everyone is going to be in a holiday haze until after the new year. That's my two cents on this.

Regarding this subject, I watched the interview that David Shuster did with Ron Paul on today's Morning Joe program: http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/018041.html.

This was one of the most disrespectful interviews I've yet seen in this campaign. Shuster was practically dripping with sarcasm and arrogance. He stopped just short of calling Ron Paul a moron. It's amazing to me how so many people start frothing at the mouth whenever anyone says anything negative concerning "Honest Abe". If you disagree with them they treat you as if you've blasphemed their god in his temple. Disgusting. It was clear from the questions he asked that Shuster doesn't really know anything about the real Abe Lincoln (and he wasn't interested in being enlightened, either).
