Question 1: On your website, it says “
Lonegan will veto liberal spending programs, eliminate wasteful agencies and completely overhaul state government.” Which programs, specifically, and which agencies, specifically would you like to see eliminated?
Question 2: On your website, it says “
And Lonegan will begin the process of reducing income taxes, repealing Corzine’s 7 percent sales tax and rolling back the dozens of other oppressive taxes like tire taxes, cell phone taxes, real estate transfer taxes and the new paid family leave income tax.” What type of reduction in income taxes can New Jersey residents expect? If the income tax is not abolished, what, specifically will those taxes be used to fund? When you say “
repealing Corzine’s 7 percent sales tax”, do you mean rolling it back to 6%, or repealing it altogether? Do you wish to drastically reduce the overall property tax burden? If so, how will you accomplish this?
Question 3: Will you protect the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms? Do you support any regulation on firearms or ammunition ownership, manufacture, or carry? Do you support the abolition of permits for the right to concealed carry? If not, can you explain why we should have to carry or pay for a permit to exercise a right that is already ours?
Question 4: Do you support the ability of people to exercise their Second Amendment rights in the form of Militia (being necessary to the security of a free state)? Have you read the Missouri Information Analysis Center’s (MIAC) report which implicates Militia members as domestic terrorists? Do you agree with the MIAC report’s analysis in this regard?
Question 5: Do you feel that drug use, and in particular, Marijuana use, is a criminal offense, or will you seek their decriminalization? Do you support the federal War on Drugs, and do you believe that the federal War on Drugs has been successful so far?
Question 6: What do you believe should be the role of the government in the institution of marriage? Do you believe that the government should have the ability to perform marriage ceremonies? Do you believe that the government should have a role in defining marriage in any regard?
Question 7: Did/Do you support the REAL ID Act? Will you categorically reject all attempts by the federal government to register citizens in such a manner?
Question 8: Several other States have resolved to reassert the 10th Amendment, and state sovereignty, with legislative action. Would you support such legislation in New Jersey? Do you support the right of the States to secede? Under which circumstances, generally, do you feel secession is a viable option?
Question 9: A recent survey performed by the Mercatus Center of George Mason University notes that “
New Jersey has primary seat-belt enforcement, motorcycle and bicycle helmet laws, a cell phone driving ban, an open-container law, sobriety checkpoints, and mandatory liability and personal injury coverage for automobiles.” Which, if any, of these restrictions would you like to see repealed?
Question 10: Do you disagree with recent smoking bans on private property such as restaurants? Would you seek to end such smoking bans? Would you seek to drastically reduce taxes on cigarettes?
