Anyone heard of the "Tuttle Twins"?

Come on, anyone? Can we discuss this?

Good news in a world of bad.
Give 'em some clicks. This looks like a great idea. Might be a little creepy, but still a great idea.

Can you indoctrinate kids into freedom?

Still, with very few good children's books, this one needs to be in the library.

I don't have children so take my post for what it's worth...

I like the idea. I think if I did have children I wouldn't push anything on them. They'd come to understand it themselves. I would explain things that are very pertinent to life and that not many care to tell you. Banking, taxes, etc. Not when they are excessively young, but certainly they'd have an idea of how things work before manipulators enticed them into going into debt for worthless degrees, for example. And they'd probably get a reality check if they wanted to join the military. My father gave me one and I am glad he did.

I don't know. I don't really think it's creepy or indoctrination. That would probably more fall under the person teaching it, if at all. It's one thing to spend time with your children, explaining aspects of the world, and it's another to inculcate them in your views simply because you are an authority figure. There is a middle ground, imo.

I'd like to send near 535 copies of the book to Congress. Some of the more, 'stick their finger in a plug socket' types might finally understand.

People are waking up though. I think efforts like this ultimately help in that regard. That and the internet.

I think we ought to help promote this a little.
How do you describe liberty to a 7-year-old? Should your preteen care about the government? Are your kids learning about proper political principles in class?

For too long, parents have been at the mercy of professional curriculum developers to instruct their children. History is watered down, key principles omitted altogether, and time and attention given to things of lesser importance. Freedom-loving parents have long been left alone to shoulder the burden of educating their children and passing down a love of liberty.

While there are many books to teach these ideas to adults, there has been a profound void in the children’s literature market. The Tuttle Twins series aims to close the gap, helping parents convey the principles of liberty to their kids in a fun way.

I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks this is a pretty big deal?

This look like a great tool (not the only one) for educating our children.

From the site:
Welcome

Until now, freedom-minded parents have had little to no educational material to teach their children the concepts of liberty.

The Tuttle Twins series of books helps children learn about political and economic principles in a fun and engaging manner. With colorful illustrations and a fun story, your children will follow Ethan and Emily as they learn about liberty!

I know the author, Connor Boyack. I actually did some proofreading and editing gratis on his first book, Latter-Day Liberty.

I'm glad and surprised word on this children's book is getting out so fast. He just got his first printing within the last few days.

Anyway, I love "The Law" and think it is awesome that he has written something that teaches those principles so that kids can understand. They certainly are getting bombarded with the opposing viewpoint constantly if they attend gubmint schools - and likely even if they aren't.

Yeah, this is what I'm saying! As a parent, I have very few tools I can use with my children in terms they can understand. My son has a nice library of children's books, but almost none of them teach these kinds of lessons. I'll be buying a few copies. One for me and a couple for gifts. I can't wait to see the next installments.

Spread the word liberty lovers! Train the next generation right!

Oh, and they accept Bitcoin. ;)

Since you are begging for comments, I don't like them as a resource. I like resources that tell children the truth without trying to interpret everything. Give kids direct acess to the originals as much as possible.

And one day my sacred member may be only 10' long.

IOW, I would not bet the farm on it.

I'm afraid you are well off the mark because you presuppose the children in question already possess the knowledge base that will lead them to sound answers. Look at how many parents are - they are virtual absentees in their children's lives. At some point in their cognitive development, children need to be spoon-fed in order to bootstrap their intellects. That is what this publication attempts to do and you should look at it that way. One does not spit a child into this world knowing right from wrong beyond "it hurts" and "it feels good". They have to be TAUGHT because this is fundamentally conceptual thinking, something for which a newborn has only capacity but no skill. We have to show them how, first... then let them run amok with their newfound powers of thought... with a wee bit of guidance, of course.

I think I'll buy a copy and give to my grand niece and nephews. About a month ago I was doing a RPF search and came across this old thread from "07" about a childrens book for democrats. I thought as a little joke I would post the thread link here. Do you think I could find the exact thread again? No. Must have gone down the memory hole. However I did find two other threads on the same book. Here are those links. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?15081-why-mommy-is-a-democrat http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?88358-The-brainwashing-starts-early

Why am I not surprised that the author of this book was an RPFer from way back?

+ Rep, my friend. This is great work.
