Romney is a business man, and to be a successful businessman you have to know when to call BS and i think that Mitt is kinda fond of Paul's quite bulletproof logical arguemnets along with the way they are presented, ie it seems Paul doesn't pander to dumb-down language which could also be his ultimate crux.

Maybe while listening to Paul's responses Mitt is thinking: Amazing, Amazing!!!

he made a jab at Paul right after Paul's answer on Iran.

I'm not sure how that constitutes admiration.

It's funny i noticed it too...whenever ron is speaking, romney seems to be listening intently. Perhaps it's just those famous Mormon manners. He seems much more respectful, not dismissive and arrogant like McHuckaJulieAnnie. Fred thompson looks like he might drop dead any moment...man his face looks like he's had a tough paper route, lots of scotch and cigarettes?

He's used that line several times and it's the only way any of them can possibly respond. They all think they have to be hawks to be "real Republicans" and get votes. Saying stuff like that shows he's "tough on terra."

If Romney is Bush III, what the hell is Rudy then?

Funny you say that, because Rudy's Florida campaign chair is Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who is also connected to the Sembler circle, which includes Jeb Bush.

But Sembler is closer to Romney. And Sembler is a long time member of the shadow government.

No. What he said and how he said it to Ron Paul was the nastiest thing I've seen so far - kinda ranks down there with some of the low authority progressive bloggers. To me, it revealed that there is a viciousness in Romney that's dangerous to have in any person of authority.

I think Romney is a highly intelligent man that probably knows Ron Paul is as well, and may even know that he is right on many issues. But Romney is very ambitious; he desperately wants to be president and will say whatever it takes, even if that means parroting ridiculous Republican talking points.

Following the debate I believe I saw Mitt leave his podium and go directly to RP and shake his hand.

I noticed that too. I think he respects Paul more so than any of the other candidates. (He was not directly next to Ron Paul, so I found it odd that he would "skip" a podium and go straight for Ron)

I think Romney will say anything to get elected, that's my main issue with him.

This CFR bullshit is retarded. Stop bringing it up.

Totally agree. CFR isn't even the most neocon-biased of the "think tanks". Yeah it tends to like big government, but so do 90% of the people in government (if they didn't like government, they wouldn't be in it).

To say that the CFR is part of some conspiracy to control the American public is completely ridiculous.

Mitt is a sharp and well educated guy. Plus he comes from an established family, and I am sure the kinds of things RP is speaking about were discussed at the Romney dinner table. I think he knows Dr. Paul is right. But he also knows you have to pander to the audience; Mitt knows it's a game you have to play to get elected in this country. RP doesn't want to play the game.

Romney looks serious when listening to Paul, but with an expression like he's seeing a bug at x1000 magnification.

The others are worse. Giuliani cackles, McCain makes faces, Thompson shakes his head and Huckabee takes notes.

Did anyone notice Romney's expression during this answer, 2 minutes in? Maybe it was the lighting, but it looked like Romney was thinking... "Jeebus, this guy is right and it makes me sick." Watch it in real time, its fun! haha

Coaching from briefers aside, he knows he knows next to nothing on Foreign Policy, Fiscal policies, Liberties, Constitutional matters compared to RP.

Romney made serious blunders today on couple of issues, he's total ignorant.

Ya...he's thinking he wished he had a conscience too. He's is awe of someone that could actually survive national politics and keep their integrity.

Exactly. I wonder how much of Romney's "war propaganda" talk is actually stuff he truly believes in. I think he exaggerates his views regarding the ME because he thinks it's what the typical Rep wants to hear.

I think it's more like regret...

Regret for what his own life could have been if he had only followed a similar set of principles as set forth by Dr. Paul's example.

While I cant stand the globalist ,what I will say is that I did notice a look of admiration on his face at one time while watching Paul, but hey its hard not to like a man that sticks to his guns even when its the unpopular thing.

LOL...I think you guys give Willard too much credit. To me it does look like a form of regret, but I bet it's more of a "poor Ron the misled soul, I wish he were on our side with all that $$$". I've seen that look before it's the mormon look when you tell them "no thanks, I'd rather go to hell."
