Anyone besides me cringe when RP...

I would give anyone a million dollars to show me proof that the actions of humans do not effect the the climate.

I don't think anyone could, because it does.

HOW we effect the climate should be the real debate. We need to get rid of overly simplistic terms like global warming and global cooling because temperature is not what is directly impacted.

Temperature changes are a result of climate INSTABILITY. We are altering the weather patterns. THAT is the real danger. Some places will be warmer, some will be cooler (snow in Tokyo??). Percipitation levels will change. Hurricanes may become stronger and more prevalant, or disappear completely. Who knows, but this is what should be studied.

I think science is making a huge mistake by focusing on global temperature levels. If the government, led by the Dems, were to undertake a huge program to try and eliminate "global warming" I think it would be absolutely disastrous.

We need better focused science. The debate has been hijacked by "global warming" and we're never going to improve anything under that line of thought.

Didn't cringe in the least. The last thing I want is a global UN tax on living my life--what a nice little back door to global gummint.

No. I'm not scared of Global Warming, Terrorism, not having Health Insurance or any of the other fear tactics du jour. I'm very brave. :)

I'm a vegan and an environmentalist and I can say, with confidence, that man-mad global warming is a complete globalist scam.

Exactly... I am a PAID member of Greenpeace, believe we need to stop polluting the air and yet agree 100%. It's a total scam.

People need to stop using the term global warming. While warming can happen, that is not the only or most profound effect of massive world-wide greenhouse gas infusion.

Global climate instability is a much more accurate term.

Yes, this week at least. You're probably too young to remember the 60's, when they were telling us that an ICE AGE was just around the corner. Then it was going to be global warming, now it's called instability. Next week it will be little green men from mars if we don't panic about the "instability"

There should be an official "Fear of the Week" release from FedGov, so we know what to worry about now. They could wrap it in with the "Weekly War On" announcement so we know who we're supposed to hate this week too.

Let's just say the climate does goes through natural changes. What do you do when the Maldives goes underwater or Florida sinks? No matter the reason everyone agrees the temperatures are changing. What are we going to do about it?

I'M going to move to higher ground. Smart people will. The rest will puff up, cry, and wait for the government to come around and tell them what to do.

This has happened many times in recorded history. How come this is the first time there has to be a World War against it? Get some perspective, folks.

That's fine, but arguing that climate instability is not caused by humans because there's no proof that it is uses the same fallacy.

But I guess that's where the debate comes in because there isn't overwhelming evidence in either direction.

I agree.

And I am not in the global warming bandwagon at all. However, I do believe in conservation for the sake of conserving. There is no reason to excessively (I guess this would be up to the person as to what they think excessive is) pollute the environment, not recycle, etc.. Just I feel I don't need to be scared into doing.

anything is "unstable" the closer you inspect something. It's the law of sampling data.
This table looks stable until I peer into its atomic structure and see molecules zooming too and fro.
The weather only appears unstable because we have a lot more data to catch the fluctuations.

The fact is we've been cooling since peak warmth in 1998 even though CO2 emissions are higher than ever.

Deforestation and pollution and energy dependence are simply unintelligent things to do for the advancement of society.
But since people aren't awake they only get motivated by fear, so the politicians see themselves as brokers - taking a little of the top while doing the work the people don't want to do to protect the environment.

You need a refresher in the Scientific Method. Arguing that Global Warming is caused by humans without proof is every bit as valid as arguing it's caused by little green men. The amount of proof available in either case is the same.

Climate Change.
