Walking by Manning in Denver's locker room is a source of anxiety for all Broncos players, they say. Running back Ronnie Hillman said he tenses up when he brushes past him. This is because Manning is known to give passersby a pop quiz about Denver's upcoming opponent. Backup quarterback Zac Dysert said the questions Manning asks him usually focus on where the ball should go against a particular coverage. It is "definitely easy to be scared" of Manning, he said.

Annoying? Maybe.

But if everyone on the Broncos could maintain that sort of focus and intensity and drive for perfection, they wouldn't be in a 29 point hole right now.

Shrugs. Like I said, I lived in Indy, and lots of people had close encounters of the Manning kind to report. Never heard anybody say anything bad about him.

Yes, he's definitely intense. He studies the science of the game more than most coaches do. He's known to be an absolute perfectionist, which is why I hope he goes into coaching.

And this was before that (probably before Peyton could find Indy on a map), which brings me full circle to "maybe he's changed over the years. A lot."

Too bad that "throwing dead ducks" comment came so late in the process. I'll bet there could have been some really creative commercials involving duck throwing if there had been a bit more time.

I have never seen such an epic collapse in team sports before. Aside from perhaps the Lakers against the Suns in the 06 playoffs.

They really haven't. They've been bad enough that Arnold/llama, and Tebow, were highlights to me. Other years they would have barely scored a mention.

Oh and there was the one with the Doritos-powered time machine. Okay. It was cute, but not great. Not even a little.
