I refused to join when I found out they didn't accept atheists.
Huh? Could you explain that?I didn't let my boys join because they don't allow girls.
21 + Mckarnin's husband, I know there is one more user here that is Eagle too who hasn't chimed in yet. Maybe the PCC site needs an endorsement from Eagle Scouts page?How many Eagles here thus far?

I was curious how many current/former Boy Scouts are involved in this.
Nice!! We didn't do Mt. Baldy on my visit (there was a forest fire nearby), but we did the nearby summit---anyone recall the name??

I don't know why an atheist would join an organization who's oaths reflect faith in God, so for that I can respect your integrity.
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
Fascinating. I never ventured into anything other than OA but knew a LOT of Explorers in the Orlando area where I grew up.I joined while I was still Xtian. I made Eagle Scout and later became an Atheist.
I was also a Cub Scout, Explorer, Sailor, and Marine.

I was in the OA for a little while, but there were girls in the Explorers.
