Antifa designated a terrorist organization

I'm still trying to figure out why anybody takes Trump seriously after this:

What's he supposed to do cry and beg for the terrorists to stop killing his friends?

Send them a strongly worded letter begging them to stop?

Thats just not how politics works.

So about that terrorist designation... what's gone on with it?

The same as with every other "terrorist organization" designation.

Each government faction will apply or reject it when doing so suits their policy objectives in the moment, but will otherwise simply ignore it.

(See: Al-Qaeda, ISIS, etc.)

What if I'm anti fascist, an anarchist and a libertarian who isn't a member of any organization?

I suspect that it has been used as a pretext to do a lot of domestic spying that the public is not told about.

The upside to applying the "terrorist organization" label to a make-believe organization that anyone can be accused of belonging to the minute they say they're against fascism is that it opens the door for anyone in an intelligence agency to spy on anyone they want.

So, as long you support fascism, Stake-Holder Capitalism, you're in the clear? Does that put one on Trump's good side?

I always assumed it to be monetary. Like when they do it to a drug cartel it is only for purpose of seizing any funds they can find

Honestly, I doubt that anyone is in the clear. No matter what you believe in, you have enemies somewhere in the government. And this gives them more tools to use against you without needing any objective litmus test.

Monetary motives are a big factor. But I wouldn't limit it to that.

Actually no.

There's no such thing as designating a domestic terrorist organization.

It's a little bit of make-believe that makes people on Twitter happy.

Oh.

Well.

Never mind, then.

Carry on.

Apparently, unless and until the words "domestic", "terrorist", and "organization" appear one after the other is some officially official government document, it's not really a thing, and there's no reason to be concerned about the matter one way or the other. (The words "militia", "violent", and "extremism", on the other hand ...)

I think we should be concerned about crimes on account of what they actually are as crimes, without respect for other special labels that can be applied to them, like "hate crime," or "terrorism," based on what the internal motivation of the person committing the crime supposedly was.

Obviously, you are some kind of dangerous subversive who should be included on a three-letter list (such as "MVE" [1]) for use by some three-letter agency (such as "FBI").

[1] But not "DTO", at least. I've been given to understand that there is no such thing except on Twitter - and thus, no three-letter agency could possibly operate as if there were.
