Amash was in Hartland Tuesday. I was not able to attend, but just saw this on facebook

[h=5]To the person or persons responsible for leaving the ANONYMOUS anti- Justin Amash flyers on the windshields at Tuesday's Freedom Banquet--you are dishonest cowards. If you are not willing to put your names on crap like that, and defend your statements, they aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

You also wasted the $100 bucks on copying, because, for the people in that audience, 99% of attendees understand how Congressman Amash votes. He reads the WHOLE bill and if he doesn't believe the guts of the bill live up to whatever feel-good title is given to it, he votes no. He also votes no if any portion of the bill is unconstitutional (duh). He also votes no if he believes that any part of the bill unduly expands government or contains pork--unlike so many of his colleagues who would trade their mothers for a juicy provision (it's better to get 80%...). And finally, he votes no if he isn't given sufficient time to study a bill. So I applaud him voting no on these bills, even if their titles sing of rainbows and lollipops. And even if the bill funds "necessary government functions" which are used to mask a mountain of pork or some unconstitutional expansion of federal powers. Thank you Congressman Amash for having the courage to vote NO when something doesn't smell right.[/h]

Amen. Justin Amash is one of the best. Seeing him with Massie in that video from YAL convinced me that both of them really believe in what they do.

The person that wrote that post is on the Exec Committee. Hated Ron Paul, loves Justin Amash.

I'll take it.

I certainly understand that, but I just can't quite figure it out. I suspect the media's smears that sunk in.

Yeah, must be like the lady on FB from NC who love Greg Brannon and Rand, but hates Ron Paul. She says his FP is "nuts", but can't explain why. These are people who have just given into the hysteria on Ron. There is no logic. Otherwise, no thinking person would hate Ron and love Amash. If anything, either they will both be hated or they will both be loved.

For my dad he held a really strong anger at the mere idea that the US might share blame of 9/11. He hated that Ron Paul "blamed" us.

But he too loves Justin Amash.

Just wanted to give a possible reason.

Know this...

Each individual will take an individual path to the ideas of liberty. We will be more attracted to those that have taken a similar path as our own. Once you have reached the conclusion that liberty is the only way to go, you will be more open to others that have reached the same conclusion, but you will still appreciate the ones more who have taken your similar path.

This is why I always talk about encouraging hundreds of different avenues to liberty. You never know which one will attract someone that would be turned off by another. Alex Jones, Kokesh, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Amash, Massie, Lew Rockwell, Reason magazine, Stossel, the Judge... you get where I'm going. This is why I see the in-fighting as counter-productive.

One thing is certain: Most people just plain don't make sense much of the time. For example, all the people who gush about how hunting is cruel while chowing on a steak, not thinking about how if hunting stopped, much of the game would die of starvation and disease due to overpopulation.

Until very recently I thought Ron was nuts but loved Amash/Massie. Then *poof* it suddenly all made sense, and I realized I didn't actually think Ron was nuts.
