Ron should take the funds, but he may have already disqualified himself for them b/c of expenditures.

EDIT: Probably not actually. We spent so little in NH and IA it still looks like we are good to go.

That way Ron Paul can honestly claim he is following the will of his supporters, just like he follows the will of his constituents when he earmarks spending bills.
Good points, but remember, he votes against those bills.
From meet the press. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22342301/page/3/
REP. PAUL: You got it completely wrong. I've never voted for an earmark in my life.
So he does do put it in to represent the people, but he votes against it on principle.

I didn't even know about matching funds. And I don't know everything about it, only what i can gather here. So if people donate this on there tax form and want it used for candidates to match fund, how is this going against what Paul stands for?? If that is true, It would make no sense for Paul not to take it, I'm sure everyone else will.

I'd take the money. He's been consistent, but he's used the system to get money for his constituents for decades. It's not against his principals.

He does take congressional paycheck for his services.
He does advocate less taxes to Fed Govt.
He sure does not like to let this taxpayer's money to go for Empire Building welfare/military-industrial agenda candidates and their cronies.

Well, look at the money the taxpayer saves if he takes the money and wins. I'd rather Dr. Paul spend $20 million to save our country from borrowing $1 BILLION EVERY DAY.

Besides, since he running for president we are now officially his constituents.
He is duty bound to bring us our money, it is a different issue that his new constituents decides to donate the money to his constitutionalist message.

the rationale for taking the money

Ron Paul must take the money. His stated goals are 1) winning the Republican nomination; and 2) spreading the message of freedom. Taking the money will help him be more successful in pursuit of those goals. Not taking the money means that he will prioritize a less important goal (try to make sure that no-one can ever argue that there are any inconsistencies in his behavior) over the first two more important goals. If he doesn't take matching funds because he cares more about trying to be consistent, he will dishonor all his donors. We gave money to his Presidential campaign, not to his resume-polishing-for-posterity campaign.

Also, we can think of it this way: it would double the message-spreading impact of the donors at the expense of people who aren't Ron Paul supporters and who therefore must have no issues with government spending! Everybody wins!

We may need the money if donations slow down this quarter. Take it so I don't have to spend more of my kid's inheritance.

Can this thread be moved to the Grassroots section? I hate for it to burried in this NH forum which will possibly be shut down sometime.

I will only contribute to Grassroots

I don't care about Inept HQ(similar to Feseral Govt.....as not accountable to us) i promise henceforth to support Grassroots, then any of Dr.'s moneybomb.
If Dr. Paul wants money from us, then he or his paid boys needs to be accountable.
You folks go ahead and donate the HQ.
If HQ is unrresponsive to me and to so many of us, sorry, they are not going to get paid from our contributions.
These fat cats including Snyder, needs to know, we are loyal to Dr. Paul, but he needs find a new job, if he can't deliver. We are not loyal to snyder, however, Dr. Paul wishes.

I will put up a huge sign...."retire Kent snyder"
I do not know this charachter, but sure dr. paul
knows the loosers

was against it

now i´m not so sure considering he gets excluded and blocked in msm with no chance to defend himself, maybe this bias and outright fraud against a viable election
might require these funds.

they tipped everything against him with possible voter fraud also so maybe he should take it to counter all of this.
