One problem - principle consistency. Imagine how the MSM would react if Ron Paul did take that money.

Not if you PAY them(MSM) to ADVERTISE on their broadcasts and affiliates... it all comes down to money... Politics, MSM, business, success...

This was discussed before and someone said that Ron Paul has already spent too much money in NH to qualify for matching funds, because of the limitations on how those funds are spent. But I don't have facts here, and with the search function turned off I can't find that thread.

I hope that's true and puts the idea to rest. Many wouldn't be such supporters of Paul if his principles were elastic. I don't agree with everything in his platform, but I know I can trust what I do agree with.

Take the money and inform the people with twice as much effectiveness. There is no moral issue here. Don't go asking your already-strapped supporters for five or six more money bombs when you've got the granddaddy of fully legal money bombs just sitting there.

TAKE IT!

The funds are voluntary, this is what they're there for, and you better believe all our competition is doing it. Take it!

Take the money. It may be our only hope. Get political with that money. The stations that cater to us get the most.

IF Ron Paul can take ear marks for his district...

He can also take the $20Mil for US. I know I have checked the box on my taxes to put money into this pool. Now I want it back... for the first time ever ... for this candidate.

Do not take the money. It isn't what he stands for.

Live or die by the principles you hold...don't throw them away for a grasp at the brass ring. That's the problem with politics already. People abandoning their principles for power.

I think that since the money available for matching is OURS, the TAXPAYERS, we should go ahead and take it and put it to good use.

Use it for what WE want it used for, otherwise it goes to the opposition, and I do not approve of that use!

One way to do this without being accused of selling out principles.

Have the HQ announce to everyone who has donated to the campaign that they will put it up for a vote.

People who have donated have a confirmation number for their donation, they send these confirmation numbers along with a yes/no vote to take donations.

If enough donor money winds up voting yes--take the matching donations. That way Ron Paul can honestly claim he is following the will of his supporters, just like he follows the will of his constituents when he earmarks spending bills.

If enough donor money votes no then his supporters have spoken and it will be the end of the debate.

Think of it as a tax return for the people that donated. The people that gave you money want you to have the money our government stole from us.

you would have to give ron a constitutional argument & it would have to be overwhelming ... there are rules you must follow if you do it ... perhaps if it was spent on constitutional grounds of public awareness of the constitution itself , i don't know , it might make sense to him ...?

it would take much thought
