OK, but does that justify the police arresting him for having some marijuana? Sure, he's an idiot... for talking to the police so they could find his stash. Any intelligent person would either sweat the $125 and pot or choose their words more carefully.

You're right, laws have changed, most of them unconstitutional. I am reminded of a quote in Oliver Twist-- “If the law supposes that,” said Mr. Bumble,… “the law is a ass—a idiot. If that’s the eye of the law, the law is a bachelor; and the worst I wish the law is that his eye may be opened by experience—by experience.”

Just remember--the names have changed but the game remains the same.

Oh and I do not hide under my bed because there is police on the streets--but I know what the founders meant when they warned about standing armies.

My bad... I'm not sure if it was a felony, but $25,000 bail sure is a lot.
 
Cops are the most dangerous of criminals. They are often violent and know that they can get away with almost anything. There are almost no circumstances in which calling/talking to the police is a good idea.

I'm not saying it is justified ... I don't agree with current laws on that subject.
But people are allowed to make poor decisions, and Michael did just that.

Isn't that why most of us are here ... Looking to accelerate the process via a Ron Paul Presidency ... YES ?

IMO, about 80% of our current laws should be returned to the States and/or revoked in their entirety.

Michael wasn't the one making poor decisions, it was the police for arresting a peaceful person.

The only way an unconstitutional law will go away is if the people know it is unconstitutional and stand up against it and resist it. The problem is, most American's (including cops) have been deliberately dumbed down. Those whom have (in the past) resisted an unconstitutional law(s) get demonized and painted as wacko's, nut-jobs, conspiracy theorists, totally insane, unAmerican, cop-haters and Terrorists.

I am here, not to accelerate Dr. Paul into a Presidency as much as I am here to get with like-minded people who love liberty and cherish freedom. To band together to help Dr. Paul get his message of liberty out to those who have been asleep. That is where I put my money where my mouth is--I have supported Dr. Paul for over twenty years and will continue to throw my FRN's his way or anyone else with the message of Freedom and Liberty.

IN all fairness, so did my Dad. He's almost 70, but he ended up in jail one night for something that the peace officers we knew as kids would have scoffed about. The mentality og law enforcement has changed dramatically over the last generation. It is definitely us against them.

As for the original story, i knew guys who found themselves in similar situations, and this is going back 20 years. They didn't call the cops, because when you're in the business, you don't do anything that puts you on the radar.

Is it a positive that the guy was in the business? I have a scale and I don't sell drugs. He could just be using it to weigh what his dealer gave him.
