Animals in Heaven? (for those who have lost a furry friend)

I am the biggest pet lover around. My dream is to go to Africa to work with Kevin Richardson (the lion whisperer).

I lost one of my best friends last summer, Persia, who was a 21 year old black cat. I have 2 new kittens (well, not kittens anymore- both sisters of 6 months) and I have many at home and take care of about 30-40 ferals downtown every day. (Put it this way- I love cats and animals so much a couple years ago I spent 1200 dollars on a sick cat who was not even mine; she is mine now though

Unlike the Baptist church sign war with the Catholic church might have implied, the Bible simply cannot be read to deny the possibility of critters in eternity. Indeed, a careful examination of the Nephesh states directly that critter souls go back to God, and further implies the possibility that the critter soul is retained intact therefore possibly populating the realm of eternity.

Genesis describes both human beings and animals as being a "living soul." The Bible never describes either one has having an "immortal soul."

maybe so, but the Bible said animals are in Heaven, they will populate the New Earth during the Millennium etc.. plus why would God not grant us our wishes of our beloved pets?

I am sure this was in jest but it does raise an interesting question. How complex does a living creature have to be for it to have a living "soul" or an immortal soul? Horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, ferrets, mice, dolphins, jellyfish, clams, ants? Or does it kind of become less and less of a soul for creatures that are not as human-like? Do the trillions of living cells in your body each have their own soul?

I believe that every single soul and thing that God has created will be in heaven as well and more than we ever imagined that's never existed on earth. The word of God tells that animals have souls/spirit and they too, being of a lessor creation to mankind will indeed inherit the kingdom of heaven. All souls entered the Ark two by two and some more--it's biblical and God said so.

Rest assured that your four legged loved ones have not been forgotten and all of that love they gave and received was not in vain. You will see them again. I know this because I prayed asking God this same thing when I lost a dear and close four legged family member I grieved terribly over his loss. The Lord lead me to those very scriptures reassuring me that none of his beautiful creation is lost, but go straight back to the Father creator.

What would heaven be without the animals--I could not imagine such a thing and don't want to either. Our animals give us so much and is why in Proverbs God tells us to "regard or respect" our beasts and treat them with love and kindness because of what they do and give us of themselves.

Well, I don't see any record of them having eaten of the forbidden fruit, so I must conclude they don't have knowledge of good and evil and thus have not sinned. This means they shouldn't have a problem when it comes to judgement and thus they have no need of being saved.
