Last night I was scrolling around on Rand Paul's reddit and I read a good idea from someone who suggested an idea for a website where people could pledge their support not to vote Republican if Trump is nominated (see here). I thought it was a great idea because it had a lot of potential to unify different segments of the Republican party (and even general electorate) who are frustrated with Trump's rise.

Also I thought it would be good practice for my web development portfolio so I jumped at the idea. Anyway 24 hours later (stayed up to 4am last night) and I've got a pretty much working draft. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

That's dangerous stuff, man. I don't care for either party but we need to have a Republican elected. 4 seats open there on the Supreme Court, too. Trump is actually helping to get Republicans involved, I think. Although, it could be said for the benefit of the Democratic Party. Politics are a bitch, aren't they? Heh.

I'll check yer page out, though.

If he gets nominated, there won't be a Republican elected, there won't even be a Republican in the general election, just like 2012.

Nope. Trump is far more unpredictable than Bush.

maybe, maybe not. but the way i see it is that if we can dethrown Trump, a good deal of those anti-establishment folks might end up back with Rand Paul. Bush supporters probably would not have him as their second choice.

It is tactically foolish to attack Trump at this juncture. Rand's standing among Conservatives and anti-establishment types is at an all time low and he hasn't even started the process of transforming himself in to the "Trump Alternative" candidate yet. If you bring down Trump now, all Trump's support will flow to other candidates who don't have Trump's flaws and who will be much harder to overcome even if Rand does get his campaign back on track. Trump is providing Rand with an invaluable service. He's serving as a placeholder and crowding out other candidates while Rand gets his act together (at least that is the hope). Last thing you should be doing is attacking Trump. As Rand supporters, we need to keep our powder dry and wait until Rand makes his move to get back in the race. At that point, we need to jump in and do everything we can to back up Rand's new, appealing campaign message.

Nice job. I've always like the transparency scrolling over a fixed background.

I've never understood why scrolling backgrounds got so popular... so distracting.

To be honest I'm not so sure about the background, it might exclude some people. Not everyone is a gung ho Tea Party person that worships the founders.

NOT Trump. This is who Trump said would make a great Supreme court judge. His sister Maryanne Trump Barry 3rd appellate court judge appointed there by Clinton. She wrote a judicial decision in favor of giving constitutional protection to partial-birth abortion. She called a New Jersey law against it a “desperate attempt” to undermine Roe v. Wade. It was, she wrote, “based on semantic machinations, irrational line-drawing, and an obvious attempt to inflame public opinion instead of logic or medical evidence.” It made no difference where the fetus was when it “expired.”

Don't care, nothing anyone could say or do would ever make me vote for Trump.

isn't Jeb worse?

I don't think so. I would vote Jeb against Hillary. If it was Trump and Hillary I'd either go LP or leave that line blank. I may not agree on things with Jeb but he is at least capable of running the country and would make better appointments to the SC than Hillary. Trump isn't he could get us all killed or broke when he runs his mouth. I'm not convinced Trump is actually planning on winning. I still suspect he is just trolling everyone as an over the top character like Colbert did. Maybe for the Clintons?

I love it, but Trump is a Bush place holder. Create a Jeb "take down", because you and I know Trump will never be the nominee. Go for the Bilderberg Group candidate Jeb Bush. He is the establishment pick, and will in all probability be the GOP nominee after the Wide World of Wrestling "pretend" game.

I signed, but I'm voting for Rand regardless of what happens. I just hope to press a button instead of writing out his name.
