Amash Quits Republican Party

Justin Amash didn't quit the Republican party, but the Repblican party did quit him. I guess he plans on conning his remaining supporters out of money by playing the victim card. He always has been a demoralizing character in my opinion, maybe he can find some ways to make money doing that.

Oh, and just FYI...I have always been aware of Justin's background and family, and even though he was not in my district, not representing me "officially", I donated to his campaign, more than once.

Why he chose to lose his cool and self destruct and get himself removed as a voice of liberty when we need every single one we can get, is beyond me.

Ron came to an understanding and reached a modus operandi with "the system" that served him well for 20 plus years.

Well at least for him, he got reelected enough times to get his congressional pension. so he's set later.

Invested in a ton of his re-election campaigns. Let people know we had a rare ally in Congress that was libertarian and principled. Actually felt represented by someone in Congress because I knew Justin was in there. And to see the Mueller Report nonsense will ultimately be the hill Amash died on, it's sad. The duopoly needs to end and fast, he is 100% right, this message would have resonated much deeper, as others have said, by announcing his plans to retire before he came guns blazing against Trump.

Whatever he does going forward, it would be great if he put his energy into the causes that got him all of the support he received since his first campaign.

I have donated to him in the past also, I wish I could understand what he's doing but I just can't.

By ignoring the crimes of the deep state against Trump, and the Russian collusion hoax, and join me, in impeaching Trump for not bending over hard enough when told to by Mueller and his team of lynch-men.

Kind of puts it in perspective. If you believe that this has been a smear job since Hillary went all sour grapes in 2016, you're a partisan hack. If you believe the Russia collusion nonsense, you're a principled non-partisan. If those are my only two options, put me in the 'partisan hack' pile.

I imagine it could become pretty tiring wasting your time attempting to protect the freedoms of a by and large moronic populace who wishes to deitize a tyrant.

Here's hoping him success in the productive sector. He was always too good to be a tapeworm.

And hey, you never know-- maybe the piece of shit president will develop a cohesive philosophy and veto all unconstitutional bills that hit his desk... lmao.

What a fucking retard. This is why Milton Friedman, Rand Paul,Barry Goldwater and to a now lesser extent Mark Sanford have always been my favorites in politics. Even Ron was semi-pragmatic about this. They actually want to influence politics and make my life freer. They do it through the Republican Party. Libertarians make up aggressively 3% of the population but punch way above their weight in the GOP. That is where Amash should be.

This whole idea that both parties are equally terrible and all we need are more parties is horseshit. You know who had a lot of parties? Germany in the 30s. Chile elected the first Marxist on a fluke vote in a three way race where the guy got 38%. I started posting occasionally on another site that is all people on the left and supposedly "smart". I can tell you people on the left want to kill you. They think using violence against Nazis is okay and every person on the right is a Nazi in their view. They think it is perfectly okay because you have blood on your hands for not wanting socialized medicine, denying free health care to illegal aliens, supporting the Second Amendment, etc.

I will not be joining Amash.

Honestly, I hope he runs as Libertarian, splits the vote and Trump loses. America can get the socialist they deserve and I can smile as trump cock worshippers cry like Obama supporters in the streets.

The only way he wins is if he can make the D&R lose. Democrats winning over republicans is also not advancing liberty in any real way. Eventually we would need to start see ingthe powers of the 2 establishment part diminish before we can see any real positive move towards a more free state

Amash has always been somewhat disenchanted with politics. IIRC, early on (second term?) he talked about quitting.

Good luck to him, whatever he does.

As much as I want liberty, realistically we at least have a shot at seeing Trump fanboys cry. I'll take what I can get.

I feel bad for Rand Paul and Thomas Massie. Having to be away from their families, surrounded by welfare whores in a modern Gomorrah.. I am grateful that they are there to object to bills being passed without vote near holidays etc. but I could not seriously fault any of them for picking up their chips and leaving.

How Thomas Massie, for instance, leaves his home for that shit is beyond me.

Honestly I can't make heads or tails on this. On one hand, I want to say Amash has TDS. But on the other hand, I think its possible that the Deep State is making Amash do these things in order to effective kill his political career. The only way I see that theory being validated is if Rand and Massie suddenly come down with TDS.

I would imagine that the people in Amash's district who voted for him either (A) actually wanted those freedoms, or (B)were just voting for Amash because he had an (R) by his name. What people fail to understand is that the people who will vote for you based on party lines are kind of important. Feel free to use them. A vote for you is a vote regardless of the reason. What you cannot rely on, is that the people who are truly passionate about freedom are going to be able to form some spontaneous groundswell of massive support and dominate over two whole parties-worth of people who are going to vote for you simply based on your party-affiliation. It's just not gonna happen—undoubtedly it WOULD be the most meaningful change in the history of American politics, but we're waaaay into pie-in-the-sky territory with that thinking. The people who are truly passionate about freedom are indeed fierce fighters much to their credit, but few in number. The partisan hacks are fodder, but they are the ones who actually win you elections when it comes time to count the votes, dumb as it is. Ya Kind of don't want to piss those folks off by doing what Amash did. It is what it is.

He could run as an independent. Last I checked, the Libertarian Party is a “party”.
