Red 1 standing by. :)

Just like the rebels in Star Wars, we face impossible odds. We lose many battles, but we will win in the end. Eventually, we will have our Death Star moment, when we will triumph. That may be Washington, it may be Super Tuesday, it may be the convention, it may not even be the election cycle. When it happens doesn't matter, what matters is what we do to further the cause of liberty RIGHT NOW.

We Arizonans have a moral responsibility to carry the torch of liberty forward. Our brothers and sisters in Maine have done an admirable job, and now is our chance to keep the flame lit for the states ahead of us. Dr. Paul is not going to win Arizona, but that doesn't mean we should throw in the towel. We've only lost when we stop trying.

So, my fellow Arizonans, are you ready to stand with Ron Paul? Count off and organize.

All wings report in!

Not an Arizonan myself, but I have very high hopes for Ron to win in the state that birthed Barry Goldwater!

Built-in-vote for Romney aside, Arizona is definitely a liberty-friendly state.

Would be great if we could be a strong second to Romney there!

Last night a couple friends and I started talking about politics...found out one of them hated the other 3 candidates so she was gonna vote for Paul, and the other one is also a registered republican but has no idea who he's gonna vote for (which means I'll persuade him to vote for Paul by the time primary day is here)

Also found out a mutual friend of ours, who wasn't there, is likely voting for Romney...so I'll get her to change for Paul in time too.

I've probably gotten a dozen others over the past year to SAY they would vote for Paul for sure...some of them I haven't talked to since then. I'm also working on more family members + parents, who are deciding between Paul and Santorum.

The Revolution started in Arizona, and there are enough of us to change the outcome here. I think we could get a strong showing if we work hard enough.

DO IT!

My dad lives in AZ. What is the primary process? I am not sure if he is registered.

I would not consider Arizona particularly liberty friendly, however, we do have a chance especially since this remains a divided field.

Deadline to register republican was january 31st.....so too late. I've already received my early voting ballot in the mail, it has about 25 names on it.

AZ is a closed primary and the deadline to register Republican has passed. We need to focus on current registered Republicans. I think we could get far with people on the border issue. That's largely the main issue down here, but they're also deficit hawks and civil libertarians. We recently legalized medicinal marijuana, so that issue could have traction as well.

This is the state that elected Jan Brewer after her epic fail of a governors debate...going 45 seconds without speaking because she forgot her opening line and didn't actually have anything genuine to say. Then attacks the Obama administration over not "securing the border" and defends SB1070 on "state rights" then goes 180 degrees and attacks the voter-issues medical marijuana law that passed in 2010.

It's also the state that voted in McCain again over fellow big-government republican J.D. Hayworth who both beat the officially tea-party-backed candidate Jim Deakin during the tea party rise of 2010. Deakin got about 13 or 15% in the 3-way race. He has since left the party and gone libertarian.

Arizona claims to be small government and we do have a lot of true small-government proponents, but it's also neocon valley.

Yeah, lots of neocons. Lots of guns. Lots of Mormons (I'm one).

I'm inspired though by the fact that we did seem to make a dent, albeit a small one, in Romney's vote total among mormons in Nevada.

It does make sense, when you consider how highly Mormons value the Constitution.

Ok not to be a hater or pessimist, but really, this is a state that Ron is going to get hammered in. Total neocon country here, isnt going to happen. He should go to MI since he is doing a lil better there, unemployment is high there, lots of disenfranchised voters as well. AZ is simply a waste of time, also loaded with lots of evangelicals who hate RP with a passion. Romney is going to wax that state in a landslide, though Rick may get a good bulk toward the end, but surely not Ron.

Us Arizonans need to reach out to the many older republican voters here. Sun City, etc. in door to door campaigns and encourage the GOTV for Paul. We need to emphasize that "Anyone but Obama" will not bring disgruntled Democrats and Independents to vote in the general election. Ron Paul will bring out Republicans and those other groups to beat Obama. This should be a focus in every state when trying to get voters to vote for Dr. Paul.

Arizonans should emphasize that no other candidates have lived on a border state, and that he wants to bring the troops home to defend our country and our borders rather than the Afghan/Pakistan borders. Emphasize that he has 2x as much support and monetary donations from the troops than Obama and the GOP candidates combined. Emphasize states rights over national mandates.

Student, I don't think anyone's suggesting Ron spend tons of time in AZ. I think the grassroots there are going to do what they can, however, which they should and it's good to hear that there's some enthusiasm for that.

We know he's not going to win here. He shouldn't be here or in Michigan at all. He should be in Washington, Idaho, and Alaska. But we, the grassroots, are here, and it's up to us to make a difference, no matter how small it is.

Nissassa- That point about security our borders instead of Afghanistan's borders is a good one that I think has merit. That should be one of our main lines of attack.
