Newt Gingrich All Staff have resigned - Campaign all but over

After he gets back from the Bildeberger meeting, I'm sure his former aides will return to his camp in time to help him launch his campaign. Rick Perry that is.

You got it. That is exactly who gains and gets in to fill the void. Meet the new candidate, same as the old candidate.

Funny you picked Perry since I was torn between writing Guiliani or Perry when I wrote that. I think the two of them and the FNC staff dream of being on the same ticket with each other.

okay one more time: "Why don't you get out, before you make a bigger fool of yourself"

"Campaign is bankrupt, and it's all due to his wife. "

Well that's what happens when you insist upon shopping at Tiffany's and running up debts on their charge accounts.

Sad thing is, Callista grew up a Wisconsin farm girl from Whitehall, not too far from where I live. Looks like she's been in the Beltway much too long.

Yep, it is simple, the establishment is casting about trying to find someone to fool the masses. It isn't going to happen. Simple. But, they aren't going to Ron either. So we have 50% in some samples who do not support anyone, yet.

So where are the establishment types who are FOR US? The George Washingtons, Ben Franklins, and Thomas Jeffersons were the establishment of their day, ie, the landed gentry of the colonies. Where are these folks today, and why on earth aren't they joining Ron Paul shoulder to shoulder to bring liberty, peace, and prosperity to America, nay, the world??

There are lots of them actually. I know a dozen who could raise another million or more for Ron Paul before his next money bomb without taking a dime from his normal supporters. Naturally, these kinds of people come with strings and want input for their value. And even more sadly, the campaign knows them and these facts as well, and have chosen to say "no thanks". So, it is not a question of why aren't there any, there are many, it is a question of why not expand the universe? I won't post the answer, and leave that to you to speculate, but I do know exactly why. And before the usual naysayers show up to shoot the messenger, I just answered a question on the thread I started. I have a lot to say that I don't say because not many are ready to hear it. Yet. Oh, and no one should say "we don't need establishment types", because I am not talking about any kinds except those who have spent their lives also fighting the system for these same shared values. Personnel is policy.

As a complete outsider to the campaign I'm guessing the biggest obstacle to running a more 'mainstream' campaign and attracting these types of donors is Ron himself and his zero tolerance for compromise.

It's gotten him this far in his career but I don't know if he can win the Republican nomination if he won't 'play ball' to some extent with the establishment, but it's possible that there is too much distance between them for this to ever happen and that the Republican establishment would rather lose than support him.

And I bet most of this is because of his running against G.H.W. Bush in '88 to boot.

Again, this is a answer not an attack or divisive, but a straight forward no holds barred exposition of the unmitigated problem. The problem is not Ron. Not in any way. I can tell you that he does not even have the slightest clue about any of the things going on at the levels in which those decisions are made. What events he does not get scheduled to attend, who is snubbed, who is told to stop doing this or that, who wishes to help but is coldly dismissed, who is in any way involved or excluded.

I know what else this says, and implies, yet it is the truth, and it is to be expected if one is very honest about certain things. It is entirely true that the establishment would rather lose than see him win, but all those ideas, people, money, advice and influence of which I speak are his natural allies, not people who cannot be trusted, but people who would simply tell him things others do not wish him to know because it serves their interests more than those of the nation or this cause of liberty.

And this isn't something we can change. I don't post this because doing so will bring about a rethinking of the problems or that the obvious solution will become policy. I post only the facts so that it will explain the actions and the outcome without any of the self defeating conspiracy talk that everyone is out to get him. He has far more friends and allies, but they would get in the way of those who currently profit from the way things are. Do you know what the term mushroom means?

It could be that she wouldn't let him self fund.

Rachel, you are making a number of serious innuendos above. Instead of beating around the bush, why don't you stop wasting everyone's time and SPELL IT OUT. If you have accusations to make, go ahead and make them plainly and clearly. But, please do back up your accusations.

No. I am not making any innuendos. I was very direct in answering a question where someone believed three things which are not true: He, and others, believe that there are no serious major donor or well connected Washington insider types who like Ron Paul. That is not true, there are many. They believe that the reason they are not involved is because these people are somehow too inside and Ron won't compromise. This is also not true. Lastly, I stated directly that many have aproached the campaign and been less than politely told their advice, money, and services are not needed and given a "thanks, but no thanks" dismissal.

Can't get any clearer than that without embarrassing good people by name dropping. If they wish to post about it, let them, but most do not even know this forum exists, nor care about it and have other things to do than worry about it. There is anecdotal evidence if you just look around. How many people, even on this forum, posted ideas for buses, door knocking, county fairs, phone banks, the list goes on and on, and the official reply ranges from please don't to I told you to stop you are hurting the campaign, turn the mob against them all.

So, you want back up? Fine. Tickets aren't free, they are just reduced. Buses have not been secured in any numbers. The Projects page is a joke of over priced ideas and 3% response rate. The alternative phone banking still isn't set up. The existing voters have not been contacted. No effort is being made to join up with the Tea Party. Out of state volunteers are being told to stay out of Iowa. And many people on this forum are being attacked, harassed, silenced or mocked by Steve directly. Is that what you wanted to see? There is a lot more. But I am not here for the dirty laundry report. So, don't ask again. I didn't want to be the bad cop. But, I don't like being called a liar even worse.

My entire point is and remains: Don't blame Ron, and don't blame conspiracies when ego and incompetence explain it nicely.

Occam's Razor!

Watching this thread develop was interesting. Not really sure what to make of it.

About the official campaign: not sure how having this sort of information a couple hours early really helps.

Rachel, I was supportive of your idea for the buses until Steve said the campaign was going to handle those. Since then, honestly, I haven't seen much from you BESIDES tons of innuendos that one might call "the dirty laundry report". It's very divisive, surely you must know that. It's pretty clear that you want us to turn on Dr. Paul's campaign right out of the gate. If you have some inside knowledge about a bad apple, belly up to the bar, name names and provide the evidence.

Otherwise, please stop the divisiveness.
