Many of the American People are mislead in to believing that GB43 is dumb, incompetent, a complete failure, yadee yadda yadda. This is not true. If his goal is/was to destroy, he has been a success. I believe that has been his goal all along.

The Bin Laden Family and the Bush family have been working together for years upon years, generations upon generations, therefore, I do not believe that any member of the BL family would ever be "an enemy" of the Bush family.

More loose taliban are not a good thing at all. They will probably either go back to oppressing their own people or killing our soldiers. I hope every one of them lives a very short life.

Blowback is still alive and well. Couple this incident with the recent report by McClatchy that these detention camps are a hotbed of radicalization and yes, a whole new batch of Taliban was just released and will continue the fight. It's a self fulfilling prophecy of this conflict. How to keep a steady supply of boogeyman terrorists to fight so the War on Terror can continue infinitely? Hmm, how about bunch up the common criminals and innocent people with the leaders of the Taliban, give them months or years to radicalize them to hate their US captors (after being beaten and tortured), then release them either voluntarily or through a prison break like this. Ya know, I don't think TPTB are smart enough to engineer something like this so Ill just chalk it up to the law of unintended consequences.

ETA: And for the record, Bush declared that people detained like this are not POWs. If they were POWs then the Geneva convention would apply to them. Bush said it does not and regardless of how much more difficult it makes our soldier's jobs, these people were detained illegally and tortured in violation of some of the oldest war crimes laws on the books.
