According to scientific polls, do you support Ron Paul?

Would you be excluded from a "scientific poll" according to the criteria below?

  • Yes

    Votes: 138 92.6%
  • No

    Votes: 11 7.4%

  • Total voters
    149

According to scientific polls, are you excluded from the polls?

A scientific poll would not include you if you don't have a land line, have not voted since you had your current land line phone number, did not vote Republican in the last presidential election (at that same phone number), are 21 or younger.)

Would a "scientific poll" exclude you from their results with this criteria?

I had a conversation with the CEO of a major polling organization...
He replied that he has automated callers to call your homes. The numbers he uses are from voting lists and he agreed to the following shortcomings:

1. He cannot poll those that have never voted before. (Many Ron Paul supporters have never voted before.)
2. He must ignore those that were never eligible to vote before (18-21). (This age group is likely to favor Ron Paul). Historically, 17% of primary voters are between 18-29. But from a polling perspective are probably only polled at a 10% rate.
3. Although they make a conscience effort to restrict the number of voters to each area of the state, they cannot restrict the number of voters to a specific ethnicity. This could lead to inaccurate polling of candidates that appeal to a certain ethnic minority like Barack Obama or Bill Richardson.
4. They cannot poll anyone that has recently switched

Hmm, I guess the thread title and poll question are opposite. Oops.

This is a dead topic. Do a search for scientific polling and you will also learn about favoribility ratings and how the media uses the polls as a tool to do their bidding for president.

What are you talking about? Zogby wouldn't lie to me! Telephone polls are infallible!

/sarcasm

I've never been called... :(

no landline.

I was polled, and Ron Paul was the one excluded. The only choices were Rudy, McCain, Mitt, and Thompson. When I mentioned Ron Paul the lady didn't even know who that was! They are pretty much complete bullshit

I don't have a land line, so, yes, they would not call me, despite the fact that I have voted in every state and national election I was eligible to vote in since 1992.

If the polls use random digit dialing within specified paramaters and have a sufficiently large number of respondents, (e.g gt 100), they should be considered valid.

Bump. This is important info.. Anyone on Hannity able to post a smilar poll, but replace it with Fred Thompson. I bet you are looking at least 30% for Fred.

We need to understand ourselves why the polls are inaccurate if we are to convince anyone else.

Did not vote for Bush in '04.

Wow, I was skeptical, but this graph is pretty striking evidence that Ron really might be getting shafted by traditional polling logic.

Let's FIX it. Obviously Gallop controls the POLLS and the polls determine MEDIA coverage with then control how much $$$ a candidate recieve.

I have been registered to vote with no party affiliation. I have submitted my paper work to change parties. In NY I have to wait until after the next general election. I have nevr voted in a primary.

So, basically...Ron Paul has about 10 times the support that the national polls indicate.
