It won't be as bad as you think. Take it from someone who saw people arrested for cocaine in my platoon. IF he goes to jail, it'll be for maybe a month or so, and it's just food and sleep---a welcome release. Either way, he'll get some pissed off bitching, which is just a daily occurrence that bounces off, some bullshit duty, a demotion to Private of some kind, and then the release he seeks from the Army. After three months, he'll be able to upgrade his discharge officially to Honorable.
He has a couple months of suck ahead of him, but he isn't ruining his life by protesting.
I don't know that he'll get prison time. If he does I'll be emailing away to every newspaper & TV station I can find.
When his chain of command finds out about this, I expect he'll be punished under Article 15. A guess is loss of rank, 45 days extra duty & 45 days confinement to his barracks and 50% reduction in pay; followed by a less than honorable discharge.
This guy knows what he's doing. He has my complete respect.
What a brave young man.
He knows what he is jeapordizing but his country is worth more to him then his freedom.
There is hope for America yet!
Thank God!
Well it was. There are legal ways to support Ron Paul. We don't need to go to jail or immolate ourselves in protest. And this will give more food for Hannity/Limbaugh/Savage crowd. Oh look he is a traitor, he is in jail because while voting for that isolationist RP, he disclosed his identity.
