This poll is made to have legitimate possibilities not to be a forming of the Libertarian Conservative Dream team.

Who do you think with Ron Paul makes the strongest General Election ticket, honestly

Who cares about the General right now, Ron is going to have a harder time getting through the GOP primaries so from that point of view I'd suggest the best option is declaring Rand Paul as VP before the primaries

Here's a short exposition on why it could be a powerful combo - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...te-in-2007-8&p=3365860&viewfull=1#post3365860

Declaring VP too early is deadly, cause they'll destroy you VP candidate before the general election even begins, it's generally the last thing you do cause towards the end both candidates have slung so much mud they need to introduce a clean face to the voters

Benefits of Some of these:

Luis Fortuno - Will help appeal to the growing Hispanic vote plus he's a consistent conservative who has had much success with free market reforms in puerto rico. May turn some border states into swing states, and turn some swing states red.

Nikki Haley - She's popular with Conservatives, a female and minority which will help with attempts to paint Ron Paul racist when the newsletter inevitably come up

Gary Johnson - Can win Ron Paul New Mexico and maybe even help in some of the swing states although can weaken some of the red states

Rand Paul - Rand Paul is a great campaigner and great aframing the message, and the son/father narrative is too compelling to not get major media attention.

Jon Huntsmans - former employee to Obama and anti-afghan war will bring in more of the center aside from the massive amount Ron Paul already appeals, and you get the machinery of the Mormon church on our side which bring with it lots of campaign money. Don't forget Huntsmans personal wealth.

Fred Karger - He'd turn a lot of the progressives who care more about social issues against Obama since they are tired Obama's "evolving" regarding gay rights.

Barry Goldwater Jr. - adds nothing to the ticket, but symbolically a great story

Mike Pence - he'd kill some of the center left vote, but he bring the Evangelical Money and Organization along with him that make people like him and mike huckabee effective.

I don't really know so I just took your word on it Alex and voted Nikki. lol Seems to be a pretty strategic choice, Ron does have low support among women.

Otherwise would have checked Rand, but I don't really see that that is necessary. Rand will already campaign for him.

I look at it this way: If Dr. Paul was out of the picture, who would I want to replace him? I would not vote for anyone on that list that is not a vetted liberty candidate.

I don't know her Foreign Policy views since they don't come up in Governor elections, but I'm yet to hear anything negative about her

Senator Mike Lee because he's young and perfect match.

I'd consider Jon Huntsman because he can appeal to the left in ways that Ron Paul can't. Plus he has a lot of money and from what I've heard from the propagandists, his stance on Afghanistan isn't near as bad as any of the other candidates. Huntsman can't win in a Republican Primary because he's too left-leaning/moderate. However, that can help in the general.

However, I believe that if Ron wins the nomination, he probably already has a good idea of who he wants for the job.

Justin Amash and Glenn Bradley while adding nothing to the ticket (unless Amash is popular enough to turn michigan) although taking the VP slot would position either of these two for prime time giving them the ability to be bigger players than they are.

Although I think Justin Amash seems hard not to like to anyone on both sides with his transparency and youth which can balance out Ron pauls age complaints.

Yeah, i should of added him to the list, yeah Jon Huntsman seems like an alright guy, not pure like Paul, but he doesn't have any major problems other than formerly supporting cap n trade, but I doubt he'll ever bring that up again.

I dont know where Fortuno stands on all the issues, but after hearing him @ CPAC he really impressed me. He seemed to stay on a fiscally conservative message. Never spoke of social issues or foreign policy so i can't attest to that.

I voted for Johnson, but a part of me wanted to go with Dennis Kucinich just to throw a complete curveball into the whole system.

Jon Huntsman would be good. Would remind me of Reagan picking H.W. Bush. But that might alienate mainstream Republicans.
