A Message from Ron - No 3P Run, we will continue the fight..

Yeah, good luck with that.

You obviously don't know much about the GOP. Even if you had 30 years, you still could not do it. The war-monger mentality is deeply ingrained, the GOP has sold out to big government, they have pissed on the Constitution, and the "Christian Right" is far more powerful in the party than you think. The Christian Right will never, EVER, EVER accept legalizing drugs and letting people run their own lives. You would literally have to run the Christian Right out of the GOP in order to get Ron's agenda to the forefront of the GOP.

Do you HONESTLY think you can get "Christian Conservatives" to back the idea of legalizing gambling, cocaine and prostitution? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Tell me another one!

If I had to choose between the odds of taking the GOP, or the libertarian party actually doing something productive and making an impact....

I'll put my money on taking over the GOP if those are the choices.

I knew this was coming but I was hoping he would have waited until a few more primaries/caucuses were complete first. I was curious to see how the next few states voted with Romney out of the race. I think Ron Paul is being a realist and I will write his name on the ballot.

I'm going to wait a bit until I decide how to interpret this message. Something about hiring three new staff members one day, then sending out this e-mail the next doesn't make alot of sense to me.

McCain's Presidential Ambitions Set To Be Swiftboated

http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/february2008/020808_presidential_ambitions.htm

Remnants of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth group that contributed to torpedoing John Kerry's presidential ambitions in 2004 are set to derail John McCain's hopes of becoming the Republican nominee by forcing the GOP to jettison the Senator and instigating a revolution within the party to return it to its conservative roots.
...
The campaign is being led by Sergeant Ted Sampley who has devoted much of his post-military career to campaigning for the safe return of lost POW's stranded behind enemy lines. He is Vice President of Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally Washington, D.C., which has no less than half a million active members.

Sampley also runs Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain organization, which has been instrumental in exposing the fact that McCain's status as a war hero and the claim that he was tortured in Vietnam is a complete fabrication, as well as highlighting the fact that McCain poses as a veteran's advocate yet abandons them on every turnkey issue.
...
Sampley dismissed the importance of McCain's delegate support, saying that as long as 10 per cent could be made to sign the pledge, the Republicans would be forced to jettison McCain, leading to a brokered convention and the selection of a different nominee

Did the cavalry just arrive?

Just when you think it's over, and the neocons have us surrounded, look what happens.....

"Songbird Mccain, huh?" --catchy phrase, that.:D

We haven't yet begun to fight!

We haven't yet begun to fight!

I tried to contact them today, and got no response.

That article is bizarre though. 10% of Republicans? 10% of Republican voters is a pretty tall order. How will this pledge be distributed, and would the GOP give a rats ass?

I'd like to know more, as I think our best bet now is to give McCain his "Dean Scream"... But it needs to be worse than that. He has to be humiliated to the point that the GOP asks him to step down for the good of the party.

yep, and they will save us.

We've started a movement, that for the most part wants to stay together.

We still have a chance at the nomination if neighboring states can do an "adopt a precinct" program on weekends and leftover materials are shared with Meetups that have yet to have their primary.

At the least we can educate people about the issues, build the movement, influence what the issues are in this election and hopefully win!

As to all the Meetups that have had their primary or caucus, the job just got bigger! - We are trying to win over the entire voting public for the general election!

No - our job just really got started again.

Then start campaigning for 2012!

Listen people,

Let's STOP the pessimism. We KNOW that Ron Paul will never quit fighting for our ideals. HE IS NOT giving up this race- we MUST fight for EVERy delegate left out there. Face it, there is no going back- this is a NATIONAL movement for the very heart and soul of America!

WHAT WE MUST DO is carry on- first off, MAX OUT on donations! This is the easiest way to send a message that we, as a movement, are SICK and TIRED of the status quo masqerading as covering our interests!

NEXT- pledge to yourself and to the movement that you will never surrender to the forces who tell you that you owe your vote to McPain! This is the WORST form of failure, and WE WILL NOT SURRENDER!!!!

I think he's talking about his group? Says it has 500,000 members. So ten percent would be 50,000.

Keep trying to reach him, though.

Find out how quickly he plans to launch project Songbird.

We've got primaries to win!

I'd love to see this campaign won by the military.

Have you even bothered to listen to Ron Paul's speeches at all? This is what he's been saying all along. It's not about him, it's about the message.

We knew we could not go on the same way and expect something different to happen. This shakeup was necessary and it shows us a clear silver lining (as luck would have it, Dr. Paul's letter accomplishes precisely the steps #1 and #2 from my post-Super-Tuesday post here, where I was outlining what has to happen next). Here are the key points forming this 'silver lining':

1. Dr. Paul is not quitting and he pledges to fight on.

2. He is asking for continued support from us.

3. He and many of us were astonished how his message caught on.

4. That may not be the last pleasant surprise the
Higher Power has in store for us. (Don't they
always come in triplets? Nomination+White House?)

5. McCain is well ahead, but he is extremely fragile front-runner:

a) he has volatile temperament,
b) treacherous voting record,
c) history of political corruption (e.g. Keating 5)
d) many skeletons in his closet (Songbird, 1st wife...),
e) two bouts of malignant melanoma,
f) possible acceleration of his senility,
g) great animus toward him from republican right
h) resemblance to Bob Dole 96,
i) Manchurian whiff about him

6. Romney has not dropped out, but merely quit spending
his money on the campaign. He is on the ballots and
will continue to split the vote, making it harder for McCain
to reach the tipping point. Ron knows this very well, of
course, his ambiguous wording notwithstanding.

7. Major economic collapse can hit the fan any time
turning Ron Paul into a living prophet. We already know
that, but the rest of the country may learn it soon.

8. Victories in upcoming weeks can act as a seed for
a large scale 'phase transition' to our side.

9. The shedding of the lame, treacherous campaign
staff may jolt the grasroots into organizing an
umbrella organization which can be the new,
young, healthy, truly loyal, energetic, creative and
effective bottom-up campaign headquarters. That
transformation in fact fits his philosophy much better
than the top down bureaucratic campaign staff, which
as we saw doesn't work.

10. The shedding of the campaign staff and this letter will
be taken by our enemies, who have already all but
written us off, as the white flag, causing them to drop
their guard even further and make mistakes they will
soon regret. There is nothing better for us than
an overconfident enemy propping a front-runner
with the feet of clay. (Recall also the famous faint
retreat by Normans in the battle of Hastings.)

This is the best part. This is when the miracles start to happen (as if they haven't happened already). This is when we get to sit back and watch God's plan unfold, and know it is His doing, because it's too big for us. When we come to the end of ourselves, that's where God starts.

9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

You really have to wonder - The lightning scrambling the sound system when the Ghoul brought up God in an early debate. The states that got hit by tornado's after giving Huck 1st place...

To all the sunshine patriots

It is not over. We need to stay together and we are the campaign. It is about the message and even when this presidential race is over we are organized and still have a lot of work to do.

The ship has been captured by pirats. What can we do? For us, for the next generations?
Jumping the ship? That is not the solution. We must recapture it.

We have got about 17000 precinct captains, meetup groups all over the world, we have principles (the Constitution), we are international, we are growing! :)

The most important thing: WE ARE NOT APATHETIC ANYMORE BECAUSE WE HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE STATUS QUO.

Fight on, national and international messengers of the revolution. Every single fight is important.

continue Fighting, Stop Crying Like Little Girls!

This Is A Revolution And Nobody Said That It Would Be Easy And Won Landslide...

We need to compel Ron Paul to run as a third party candidate. I realize third parties have not fared well in the past. This election will be different. The vast majority of Americans oppose the war in Iraq. The likely nominees from both major political parties both voted for the war. The Republican nominee is not a conservative and the democratic nominee is a witch. Ron Paul can beat McCain and Clinton in a three way race. The media can't ignore Ron Paul because he will be hugely influential on the outcome of the race. Even if they treat him as a spoiler they will not be able to ignore him.
We have a lot of work to do. The first order of business is convincing Ron Paul he can win. We can start by showing him he still has our support and by letting him know we want him to continue as a third party candidate. This means contacting the Reform, Unity, Libertarian, and Constitution Parties and encouraging them to support Ron Paul.

We can do it.
Who's with me?
