Gary Johnson A call for unity between Paul supporters and Johnson supporters.

I am saddened to see there was ever a problem between RP and GJ supporters. Why this entire country is failing rests in one slogan the media and the feds never want to hear:

UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL ... simple ... the goal has always been to divide us ... Why would anyone bash GJ? Bash the bankster owned Obama/Romney ... there is where the truly enemy lay, or "lie" .

Not everyone likes him, and shouldn't have to like him. People should be able to disagree.

The war will stop when recently joined members (Aug join date) stop shoving him down our throat. You guys are really doing your candidate a disservice at this point.

Perhaps the Gary Johnson fans would be more welcome if they would stop with the ad naseum mantra of...''its over, get over it. 3rd party for Ron is not gonna happen, you're delusional, Ron is done, he's too old...blah blah blah....

Like creating a good Johnson site like this instead of beating are heads with him.

EXACTLY! I come here for Ron Paul information, not Gary Johnson information. If you are a Libertarian Party supporter, then create your own damn website. Stop leeching off of this site, and agitating us Ron Paul supporters. If you haven't noticed lately, the site banner states, "RON PAUL FORUMS". It doesn't state "GARY JOHNSON FORUMS"!

But on the flip side, a number of long time members are simply looking around for who they want to vote for and they shouldn't be squeezed out, either, imho.

Gary Johnson is not someone who needs to be found. A "GARY JOHNSON FORUM" on a different website can be the Libertarian's go-to place for discussion for lurkers and participants seeking information on who they want to vote for. And a quick Google search shows no such forum exists, so I'm sure someone can create such a site.

I've already bailed on the Daily Paul for going the way of Gary Johnson.

I'm also a Tea Party supporter, and I go to Tea Party forums for my Tea Party information. I don't come here for it.

Don't let the RON PAUL FORUMS do the Daily Paul betrayal, because I reckon there will be plenty of us who will bail if this happens.

IMHO

I don't see this going that far. I just want some of that famous small 'l' libertarian tolerance for differences of opinion to be demonstrated, personally.

The thread title is a misnomer, I don't think I've ever met a Johnson supporter who wasn't also a Paul supporter. I love Ron and like Gary. Gary will never be Ron. But it the issue for me is that I think it's foolish and detrimental to the liberty movement for someone to waste their vote by writing in Ron Paul when we have a perfectly fine liberty candidate to vote for in November and show the strength of this movement. I obviously can't and don't want to force anyone to vote one way or the other, but I certainly have no qualms about saying my opinion on the matter. I don't understand the kneejerk defensiveness of GJ haters on this forum and DP though, we're both on the same team here.

The vast majority of Paul supporters will pull the lever for Johnson so you guys are preaching to the choir for the most part and you're just antagonizing us at this point. I planned on voting for Johnson, even though he certainly has his intellectual shortcomings, but if you guys keep it up I won't even go to the polls. Put a fork in it already and keep the Jonhson threads in the proper subforum.

my feeling is that people shouldn't be saying it is bad for other people to cast their votes as those other people want to cast them. Others clearly don't think he is as perfectly fine as you do. People shouldn't be bullying others to vote the way they want the OTHERS to vote. This isn't a Johnson forum or a Virgil Goode forum or any of the rest, but people here may be voting for each of those candidates, and a slew of others want to vote for the candidate this forum WAS set up for. And that's fine

With respect, let's not denigrate this into a "war."

I definitely agree we all could be more civil to each other, though. It's just even Gary Johnson is a long drop from Ron Paul. But, I've said it many times, I would gladly cast my vote for G.J. over Obamney if Oklahoma put him on the ballot.

I will say as neutrally as possible, Gary Johnson supporters need to chillax it a little bit. Each and every day on Twitter it's like a demanding request to "join Team Johnson!"

I guess its just strange to me that most of the people who don't like Gary for being an unpure, nowhere close to Ron Paul-libertarian are the same people who fawn over Rand Paul. I haven't seen any bullying, but I have seen lots of "Johnson is an evil deceiver" type threads and some members here expressing similar sentiments toward Ron Paul supporters who are voting for Johnson as neocons showed toward Ron Paul supporters in general. I understand this forum is currently called Ron Paul Forums, but soon hopefully it will grow into Liberty Forest, and that will foster more tolerance.

I really think people in this movement need to accept that some will vote for GJ and some won't. As long as they aren't voting for Romney and are teaching the GOP a lesson, leave them alone. Stop arguing over what method of protest you want.

I think you are mistaken in your perception who is saying what, but it doesn't matter. The point is this is not a gary johnson forum, although some of those here may be voting for him. And people should be able to continue enjoying coming here without feeling battered over who they are going to vote for, nor feel like they have to constantly justify not voting for one candidate.

After watching the Obama speech tonight, I think it's pretty safe to say it doesn't matter what we do at the polls for President. Even if we all vote for Mitt, Obama is gonna win this by a landslide. The real focus at this point should be on the Congressional races.

I've been hinting around for a while that we need to drop the presidential stuff (trying to campaign Ron to run third party, etc.) and focus solely on all of our local and state races. As well as federal.

We need liberty reps. and senators!

The President is like the ice cream truck- when it hits the neighborhood, everybody goes running to it, while the thieves are robbing everybody's houses.

And we could be focusing on shooting the thieves with our personal home defense firearms whilst they attempt to rob us?.... yea, that was kind of a bad joke about our pro- 2nd amendment stance while also trying to be sleek about how we need to be behind the scenes, so to speak, instead of trying to catch up to the ice cream truck.
