Wow yeah that is pretty stupid.

I thought this was another gun buy-back from the title. Gun buy-backs are pretty stupid but this is even more stupid than that.

I guess if the city's voters want to do this, I can't really complain since I live waay over on the east coast. But if Federal funding is involved then yeah California needs to quit coming up with stupid expensive ideas and making the rest of the U.S. pay for it.

go get plastic toy guns for a few bucks each and turn 'em in. Fill them with concrete to make them heavier and paint the orange tip black. anti-gun nuts don't know the difference anyway

The culture's a lot different here than where a lot of you people probably come from. Don't hate, tolerate. And live in an upper class 99% white neighborhood with practically zero crime! As for the poor or disadvantaged, self defense is sort of...theoretical. You'd better have 911 on speed dial!
