71-year-old wrestled to the ground for questioning Paul Ryan

That guy is a delusional fool. That money was spent a long time ago. I hate boomers something fierce. YOU WERE CHEATED. GET OVER IT. DON'T MAKE DEALS WITH THE DEVIL AKA THE GOVERNMENT! PREPARE ACCORDINGLY!

Ya, I'd say don't make deals with anyone. Corporations use bankruptcy in courts to wipe out pensions too.

Are we sure he didn't just fall down laughing at the idea of Paul Ryan?

Because that would be easy enough to do....

edit, no. I guess not. He really thinks he's special doesn't he? (Ryan, not the old guy) Sheesh.

but if you pay an insurance company for an annuity that they spend your premiums doesn't mean they don't owe you the annuity. Ryan's priority is to expand the empire and cut benefits -- including those paid in for and depended on -- first.

They can either cut the benefits, implement means testing or tax the hell out of it even more. Either way it is not long for this world. Ryan's plan, while not ideal, is an attempt at salvaging this monstrosity because it's on borrowed time. This older fellow has no idea about the many IOUs that were issued by treasury department and the planned COLA changes. He's frankly angry after the thieves have left the crime scene several years ago. Another deluded Boomer thinking the New Deal contract is unbreakable. ROFL Getting angry at Paul Ryan isn't going to change the fact that this guy is uninformed and gullible to boot.

I guess most are guilty of not reading the fine print. The Federal Government never promised an annuity.

So you are defending Ryan ??
Or defending the abuse of this guy for speaking his mind?

Kind of confusing since Ryan Is a lying sack of shit.

I'm saying that Ryan is not at fault for attempting to salvage a trans-generational ponzi scheme.

actually, they did, look at the stuff they were circulating when they passed it... it was INSURANCE they were selling. That is why Ron Paul takes it, and sees it as a contract right. Not that he'd have been able to perfectly fix medicare (medicare is the big problem much more than social security) but he'd have tried to keep it as intact as he could with regards to PRIORITIES picked as he cut spending, and let the kids out.

well, that's not my biggest problem with him, although as a priority while still funding Pharma grabs in Medicare D he voted for and expanding the empire and police state, that he'd cut it FIRST, I absolutely hold against him, as one of a trillion things I have against him. to me it means he is cutting money spent on those who paid in, to spend more on special interests, and corporatism is high on my list of evils in government.

Gosh, I wasn't ever given any "fine-print" to read..

Back in the 70's i saw government for what it was............it's only gotten worse.

Correct. Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI). But it has been established in our court system for quite some time that it is a revenue producing tax. There is no contract.

but at that point no one had a chance to get out of it. And actually it goes back to a vesting point in time so most boomers were before then, actually. But the money for social security is there in bonds purchased with the money when the government spent it (as bond proceeds) on whatever, and those bonds are the same kind China holds, and would be collected on the same way.

Medicare is the huge problem.
