I'm checking for ammo.. cause I just bought 1200 rds of surplus 7.62x39 for =$375.

Not too bad.. for some nice looking ammo. Same website today had WOLF ammo.. 1000 rd cases for $280.. so I'm thinking nice.. maybe I'll get another.

Well, for shits and giggles.. I checked the more "main stream" page.. CHEAPERTHANDIRT (not!!).. and they want $890 for 1000rds of THE SAME FKN AMMO!!!!!

could buy 3 cases for the price of 1...lol. Guess it pays to hang on to every little weapons link you come across:eek::eek:

I've still got a good supply 7,000-8,000 rounds from my Y2K stockpile :D

That was back when it was $75-80 a case.

Damn....

I bought 3 420rd ammo tins for $125 each.. came out to just over $400 with shipping, and they came in military .308 ammo boxes. Figured for the extra $25, may as well have the nice ammo carriers.

Considering that I've been looking for it for the past 6 weeks.. and mainstream places want 3 times that....

I'd say it's good.

I'd rather have $80 cases... but, like gas, I'm not gonna turn it away on principal ;)

Never saw any 7.62 x 39 that high on cheaper than dirt

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemListing.aspx?pagesize=1000&catid=606

Highest is $338.27

I picked up a case of 1120 on stripper clips last week for $325. Higher than what I would have paid even a few months ago, but demand has skyrocketed.

A local shop here has some left but will only sell it with a rifle purchase.
A box of 20 Golden Tiger, $699.99 includes free WASR-10.

They also say "out of stock" for it.. if you want it, you have to buy the exact same ammo, by the box for $17.79... 20rds a box, times 50 boxes.. $889.50.. plus shipping.

The real question is... Do they only have less than 1k in stock.. or are they intentionally only selling it per box. for a mad profit. Unless they'd give you the Case price, if you ordered 50 boxes... I'm not calling to find out..LOL.

Just remember to check for brass casings as opposed to steel casings. NEVER buy steel casings. Also, sometimes the price variations have to do with what country the ammo is made in.

whats wrong w/ steel casings?

if you have an AK rifle, you dont have to worry about how dirty it gets...

Steel casings will wear out your extractor..... That's about it as far as I know.

BTW... Classic arms is OUT of all their 7.62x39 WOLF ammo now..LMAO. That didn't last long at all. Their out of the Surplus as well...

I won't wait to jump on the next batch they get in.

Harder on your weapon, not as soft as brass. Some ranges won't allow them, and I don't know if this is true but I heard that some manufacturers won't honor warranty if used. They are much dirtier than brass although they're much cheaper. Just buy brass and save your shells and sell them to make up for some of the difference.
