40 Tons of GMO Crops TORCHED in America, Media Blackout

Why can't you?

It's your damn wallet, choose where you pull it out.

With all due respect, how do you boycott something you do not know? These evil bastards are sneaking them into the food supply without much regard for any of us.

Did you know the FDA allows labeling of "sugar" in a product that can very well be GMO sugar beets? Or vegetable oil in an ingredient can very well be GMO corn, soy, cottonseed or canola.

Some of us, up-to-speed with this type shenanigans are trying to warn people of these very practices. Our government is literally protecting these evil bastards (Cargill, Monsanto and Syngenta).

I've had the same attitude about food since the '70's, that being, if it comes from a store it's got some type of shit in it not meant for human consumption..

Now I eat way more BS than I should, "stuff from stores", but I try to augment it with foods I harvest myself be it meat or vegetables..

I'm ignorant about GMO plants especially in that my understanding is that they're sterile..Is this true? Or do they cross pollinate with regular crops?

Didn't I read a couple of weeks back where somebody posted the UPC codes for GMO produce sold in stores?

Honestly I don't know how hard they are to avoid....Like I said I've always figured if "it" came from a store there was stuff in "it" that wasn't good for me.

Help an ol' dummy understand what it is that's a problem?

Stuff like cooking oil has never been healthy so is it just a few degrees worse or actually more lethal than motor oil?

Same with sugar and processed flour, neither has ever been "good" for you but to what degree are they worse?

@tod evans

There are a lot of issues at stake with GMO's.

*One is the terminator gene in come GMO's, where the offspring (seed) will not reproduce (sometimes it is a down generation that becomes impotent).
*Cross pollination, contamination of non-GMO's (causing all plants of that type to eventually become variations of those GMO's).
*DNA modification of things that eat GMO's (viruses or other means used to modify the DNA of the plant passing on to the host/eater).
*Health, many GMO's have been determined to not have the same vitamins, acids, etc... that the non-GMO counterparts have.

Now, a country, state, county doesn't want to go along to get along, no seeds for you...

To add:

Look at the latest incident on wheat in Oregon. Did it blow over or was it deliberately sabotaged? The government acts all stupid and inept when it comes to people drawing attention to it. Make no mistake, they are not stupid and they are not inept--they are protecting their cronies.

The problem I have with this is what recourse does a farmer have when their crops are contaminated by other imbecile farmers who allow GMO's to be sowed on their property? Taking a giant corporation to court, single handedly isn't going to be easy. They will bankrupt you so quick your head will spin. Not to mention, how many judges are on their payroll? Did anyone know that Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas was a lawyer for Monsanto? Look at all the people in this current administration who once was on Monsanto's payroll! Or any of the offending Corporations, for that matter. The connections are appalling!

Besides there is a much more sinister scenario since in place. Henry Kissinger himself said it best back in the 1970's:

"If you control the oil you control the country; if you control food, you control the population."

As far as cooking oil, the only thing I would use for cooking is; Organic Coconut (non-refined), Organic butter (made from raw milk) and Organic Ghee. Nothing else. Organic cold pressed Olive oil is good for salad dressings--only.

We have to go back to growing and cooking from scratch (as much as possible)--to know what you are REALLY eating.

LOL! Surely you jest?
I'm not on their side or anything, but that's not true. You can't just boycott GMO products.
Sure you can. You can grow your own food or only do business with people you trust. It's called being responsible for yourself. Most generations in this country did it. This one isn't.

You aren't striking the root by attacking the farmer or even Monsanto. The American people love Barrack Obama, Mitt Romney, and GMO's. The majority of them are stacked on top of each other and could not function as they do now without them.

What is really going on here:

it's been made impossible to know the source of all the ingredients in products

You can't just boycott GMO products.

Whose fault is it that they did not take 3 minutes to Google?

Who's attacking?
Let me guess... You're a pampered child who only thinks in terms of how many flat screens were stolen...

In you're measurements, yes, probably more flat screens than you'll ever own were destroyed. I'd kill a man over it and I wouldn't be the "aggressor".

Like I said before, go ahead and start this civil war.

I don't get this defending of large corporations. For the most part corporations like Monsanto are owned by governments and are wards of governments. Not only does Monsanto benefit from government privilege it is part of government policy whether it be foreign or domestic. I fail to see how anyone can defend Monsanto on the grounds of free markets. While I dislike Monsanto and will try to avoid GMOs (difficult to do as it constitutes 70+% of the food supply) the main problem is industrial food itself. Monsanto and GMOs is a symptom. Industrial food destroys the environment, is bad for our health, and is very energy inefficient. For every calorie of food 10 calories of Carbon are required.

Sell that carbon to Monsanto. You'll be as rich as Croesus,if not quite as rich as Al Gore.

the farmer is using Monsanto seeds, not that innocent

Cool. Lets set your house in fire. You're using federal reserve notes. Your hands aren't clean in this mess. I bet you have even borrowed money from a financial institution. Monetary guinea pig!!!!!

This. Monsanto and it's farmers have destroyed the lives and property of many.

At this point, it's self defence. Not offensive attack.

Really?? Can you sight one instance where one person was harmed...without quoting some bullshit Mother Earth news story. Something from a scientific journal. Gmo is just the red headed stepchild because "we" are scared of what we don't know. Gmo is the global warming of the liberty movement.

Just so we are clear all sugar beets are part of the farm program. Which is funded by tax payers in part to ensure a abundance of food to help keep prices low.
What he had was not private property. Farms that use the GMO sugar beets are heavily subsidized. That farmer took stolen money from taxpayers to create food that is toxic. The tax dollars are taken from me by force. That alone is 100% wrong. In addition to the money being stolen from me, they are using it to poison the food I eat. That is an act of aggression. I cannot use the court system to protect my rights either as the laws and regulations protect the very groups that are seeking to due me harm.

Which of those are widespread media sites? The topic quoted the title of the article. Sheesh, Liberty.
2 acres of beets destroyed. It's not like we are talking about a big story here. I'm not sure 2000 acres would make the news

Monsanto may be endangering our entire species with their practices. Who the fuck knows what mono-cultures will do to our food supply over time. No man should be able to patent life, yet we let them march ahead, destroying the small business man because seeds drifted onto their farms.

Go read the book 'The Omnivore's Dilemma' it goes over this. It talks about how all of the gov.'s policies of stepping into agriculture and how commercial farming have really fucked shit up with our own species.
