3" of snow in Louisiana

Looking at 12+ inches in the next 24hrs. in the N.C. Piedmont. Not much to some of the northerners but a real "event" around here. Wood on the back porch, oil in the lamps, 15 gallons of flush water and 5 gallons of potable. Bottle of Knob's and coffee and beer. We might survive it. :p

i assume you where multiple layers of clothing?

Yeah but there is always the hands , feet , then the wind . :) Which is why I hate anything below 20 for a sustained period. Even as far North as I am , avg Temp.'s for Jan & Feb are mid to upper 30's during the afternoon and only down to 20 @ night . Needless to say this winter has been far below avg .

You will be alright . I am the same way . Have an oil lamp or two for every room , few jugs of lamp oil , about all I do without if the electric goes down is light and the net .

Yeah, I ain't skeert. Threw some unsplit wood in the back of the truck. Hopefully, we get enough to go out to a friends property to take care of a massive burn pile. Waiting for the right conditions and 12' of snow would be it. He's calling the local F.D. to let them know that his whole mountain isn't on fire and not to worry about it. Can't imagine a funner way to spend the day.

Lol. Local news channel has gone into "weather mode" cancelling regular scheduled programming in lieu of total weather coverage. What a hoot. Watching these yahoo's making a bit of snow into a critical situation is well worth the watch. If I were twenty again I'd make a drinking of it. Take a shot every time they say "Don't be on the roads unless you have to." :p
Just blew the first half inch of snow off the porches and vehicles with the leaf blower. I hate shoveling. ;)

I drove back in this crap from Spring Lake to Youngsville. The conditions aren't half as bad as the idiots on the road. Took me 5 hrs to make the 1.5hr trip home, shoulda been a little under 2hr given the conditions, but no, everyone who doesn't know how to drive in the snow had to get out and try. :p

not sure what the annual record is...
I read somewhere 13" in colfax. but i don't know if that is a yearly or one day record.
i doubt its a one day record.
No, I meant for the season. It seems unusual for Louisiana to have so many snow events in one season!!

the year the saints won the super bowl, we had three snow events.
we've had 3 so far this year. seems like almost weekly..

Made a last beer run about 4 hrs. ago. I was fine in 4HI. I'm looking forward to the snowpacalypse and going out and having fun this evening.

that is what we were thinking... the year the saints won the super bowl, it snowed in hell.
They beat Manning to do it too.

K. I have know idea. Back to weather now....The last hour seemed to have brought almost an inch. Winter wins. No more leaf blower.

It's pretty crazy stuff for around here. I'm just praying that the power stays on since I kept putting off getting a generator and now I'm regretting the procrastination.

What you didn't see is this giant knob of ice that built up on far end of the passenger wiper blade that came down to a tiny little point, which tiny little point was holding the wiper off of the windshield.

ETA like some crazy phonograph needle in ice sculpture.

That's what these things are for:

LOL...about a foot and a half and going to snow all night.

About the same here. We have about 6" so far supposed to get a foot. I think I am going to go plow the driveway tonight to stay in front of the storm. Pretty normal storm, no big deal.
