2022 midterm election results *** OFFICIAL THREAD ***

What difference does a senator or two make? They've made it so completely about teams that the individual office holders are as interchangeable as Muppets.

Rand Paul heading up the Health and Human Service committee and investigating Covid shenanigans?

They didn't have to be lesbians. I talked to several woman whose only issue in this vote was abortion, even some that aren't Democrats.

Abortion was on the ballot in five states last night, and voters supported abortion rights in all five states that had those ballot measures. It's rather difficult for Republicans to distance themselves from the losing abortion position they've been supporting since the 1970's, and are still running on.

Voters in California, Vermont and Michigan on Tuesday approved ballot measures enshrining abortion rights into their state constitutions, while those in the traditionally red states of Montana and Kentucky rejected measures that would have restricted access to reproductive care.

The votes signal support for abortion rights after the Supreme Court in June overturned the landmark 1973 case Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to the procedure.

In August, Kansas voters also rejected a ballot measure that would have given the state legislature the authority to restrict abortion access through a state constitutional amendment.

The ballot votes came amid high-profile Senate and House races, with some candidates running for office across the nation with hard-line views on abortion access.

killing babies as birth control is popular with half the population certainly at least , we know that much. pretty much unrealistic to expect better in a third world nation. You live in a country that has increased debt 450 percent since 2000 while the GDP grew only 40 percent ( 1.9 percent per yr avg and declining) , there has been runaway inflation for over a yr and a half and the rule of law only applies to certain classes .Thats third world baby.

Yep. Which pretty much guarantees there will NEVER be any accountability. Government party wins again. What's that? Like 220 election cycles that they've won now??

I think I would have thrown Blake Masters into that mix... Doesn't look like he'll win. In fact...

I think we too often focus on R vs. D. I'm much more interested in the incumbency reelection number.

In 2020, it was 94.7% in the House and 83.9% in the Senate.
In 2018, 91% in the House, 84.4% in the Senate.
In 2016, 96.7% in the House, 93.1% in the Senate.

After what our government (both parties) have done to us over the last few years, I'd like to see that number under 80% in both chambers, but I find that incredibly unlikely.

To all the Blue vs. Red people, enjoy your horse race. But this is what I'll be watching.

It doesn't look like many incumbents are losing at all. Murkowski in AK, maybe? Steve Chabot in OH... Let's see what happens when the dust finally settles, but from my perspective, this may be the best year ever for the government party.

I feel your pain, brother. He reminds me of an annoying ferret with bad hair.

Totally agree with you AND A Son of Liberty!

And, the MSM can't make one comment about the election w/o bringing Trump into it.

What happens when DeSantis turns out to be a neocon?
That’s entirely possible since he’s getting a lot of money from neocons and RINOS. I’ll take it a step further and say DeSantis is nothing but a fall guy and red herring who won’t cry foul play when Biden or whoever he goes up against beats him.

Speaking of Trump, here's an article from the Guardian that pretty well sums up what Trump has done to the elections:

Republicans have someone to blame for their disappointing result: Donald Trump
Lloyd Green
Trump hangs over the ballot box like a malignant ghost. He scares more than he draws and, for Biden and the Democrats, he’s a gift that keeps giving

Yes, the Guardian's a lefty news site, but this article shows exactly why Trump is in all news about Republican candidates.

That's certainly the prevailing narrative.

Does this still mean TPTB are building Trump up for a superdy-duperdy victory in 2024? "They attack him because they want him to win" or something, and attack him they did (and do, and will). Except he didn't really win anything. So, did they honestly hate the guy?

I'm sure if all the Trump candidates had been resoundingly victorious, there'd be no shortage of threads proclaiming how much of an insider Trump is. I just wanna be sure I can keep up with the latest FUD narrative.

I was honestly surprised how many 'conservative' women I know were upset by R.v.W. being overturned.

Still was the right thing to do though.

LOL!

My POV has always been that Trump has been either an insider, working with TPTB from the start, or they know exactly how to play his egotistical mania and he is their foremost useful idiot.
