My eyes just welled up reading this. It's been a long journey and worth it every step of the way. All those hours of sign waving, being ignored, and hung up on, doors slammed in your face, dashed hopes, being ridiculed in the media. I feel like the tides are turning, America is waking up!
I feel the same way! I'm from the class of '07 as well. Remember when we were considered a bunch of basement dwellers spamming online polls back then? LOL! As a precinct captain I had signs stolen and taken down by McCain supporters as well as security guards sent out to visit me outside the polling place because they were told I was causing trouble! LOL. Yeah, they hated to see all my Ron Paul signs and balloons because they didn't have anybody out there as excited about their own candidate.
I feel really proud being part of history and despite our dissapointment back then, I remember reading that while Ron Paul may have lost the battle in '08, he secretly won the war! Because here we are again fighting the good fight and now the message is really spreading!
That famous Gandhi quote is proving to be spot on:
First they ignore you
Then they laugh at of you
Then they fight you
Then you WIN!!
I'd say we are in the fight phase now so winning is not too far behind! I love Ron Paul people! When you meet a stranger with a Ron Paul bumber sticker you can't help but get a smile on your face and feel like you're both part of a very special club! Like a fraternity or a soroity. But I guess in our case it would be a fra-soroity.
