ok so I have 2 grand ,an Etrade account and and a dream.. this is my 1st venture into the world of stocks. I have some what of an idea what I want to do just looking for some advice from the good people of this forum.

Just to give you a short background on my situation and my goals.

I'm 24 with zero debt, plenty of cash flow, all the Physical pm's I need and all the cash savings needed. I am also pretty well stocked up on food, water, ammo and all that type of stuff some people are worried about... so that's not to much of a concern.

My end goal with this stock purchase is growth. I want to buy an assortment of undervalued stocks and add money to them and my portfolio as time goes on. I don't mind higher risk investments considering if I do lose this money its not the end of the world..but still the overall goal is to grow not to gamble on getting rich in a week..

I was thinking about investing in stocks related to miners, agriculture, energy..... but I'm looking for your opinion on where to start..I would be thankful for any ideas or tips.

here's a suggestion. don't seek stock advice on ronpaulforums.com

but if you want advice from someone younger than you I suggest buying dividend stocks so you always have some sort of income. check out the lists of Dividend Aristocrats. The companies are large and will withstand most anything that comes its way. Most have been paying out increasing dividends for decades.

Hmmm. I agree dividends are great when you need stable income. But he said he already has stability (physical PMs and savings) and is now looking for long term growth.

I've been crushing it with EXK. Schiff recommended it in one of his newsletters but just described it without saying what it was. Someone on here said it was EXK so I bought it. At one point last week it was up 100% after only three months. However it has pulled backed quite a bit in the last week to where I'm up 66% . So it might be a good time to buy.

holy crap image if someone bought like 2k worth at end of 2009 @ 1dollar per share. and sold it at its peak couple weeks ago at 7 per share. 350% per year return.

EXK, SLW, PBR, IVN

Maybe the new GM...maybe
schiff said no too GM. however i think when the world ends its oil supply to us, i'm starting to like the GM volt

Like what was stated above never buy stocks using a forum advice.

If i were you i would study gold/silver stocks . Find --a producing miner with-- very low debt --funds own more than 30% of the stock--about 20 years mine life left--a company in Canada or America ( most important ).

I would not say to buy Gold Corp ( GG ), but it a good place to start learning and trying to find a good company.

Never buy on margin and also never use more than 75% of the money in your account.

I'd put 200 on red. Oh wait. I've been actually wanting to do this too, but the one thing that is stopping me is the limit on trades to low balance accounts. I want to be able to diversify and then bail out of all my positions in the middle of the day if I get a whiff of something bad coming.

From what I understand, margin account require a 25k balance at all times to be able to have unlimited day trades. eesh..

I'd go with gold miner RMLRF or silver miner ISVLF.

Take commissions hits and purchase both.

Never take stock advice from an internet forum, investing or not.

Find an investor or analyst you like, or has proven returns, and purchase their newsletter. Typically they provide specific investing ideas. James Grant www.grantspub.com usually includes a few investment ideas in each newsletter from equity to debt securities. Doug Casey also puts out recommendations at various tiers, though I do not subscribe to his premium stuff.

Or you can do it yourself. You can take a company that someone lists here and look at it yourself. Does this company have good free cash flow? How are their EBITDA margins? What's top-line revenue growth look like? What are their growth prospects? What are the barriers to entry and could someone else swoop in and claim market share? Is this company a prime target for a takeover which could yield me a quick huge gain?

You can screen for investments using certain criteria. Really getting to know the company you buy gives you a vested interest to stick with it through rough-patches instead of not being sure and prematurely selling.

you're young. take some risk by buying junior mining companies that are producing silver and actively seeking to increase their production of silver. don't waste time on dividend paying stocks or very long term growing stocks with only $2000. First Majestic (fr.to), Endeavour Silver(edr.to/EXK) are my first choices among many others. And if you buy the canadian stocks you'll benefit from the currency gaining value if the canadian dollar increases in value against the US dollar.

How about trade it in for 2 turn tables & a microphone?

Best advice so far.

Even better buy a used boat. You can take ladies on THE BEST dates, camping trips, fishing, hunting, survival, leisure... a boat is the way to go.

Boat's are good because they can't run. Unless they are good swimmers. ;)
