A police chase that began in Enfield Thursday morning where officers were pursuing the driver of a pickup truck for motor vehicle violations ended just over the state line in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, when the driver fleeing police smashed into a postal truck, killing both drivers, authorities said.
One of the victims in the crash was Daniel Nacin, an employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Enfield who had celebrated his 40th anniversary on the job this past May, according to Maureen Marion, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Postal Service.
Marion said today that the postal service will have supportive services in the Enfield office to get a sense of the needs of Nacin’s co-workers in the wake of his death.
