2/10/12 [VIDEO] Doug Wead on Maddow Show MSNBC. Incredible interview

question is, why is the establishment allowing gingrich and santorum to stay in the race... knowing that a brokered convention is in the best favor of ron paul. because the paul camp loved it when santorum won and took away romney's momentum.
One way of looking at it, is the hotter the race stays, the higher the turnout for the other candidates. If its just RP and Mitt, and everyone assumes Mitt is going to win, then turnout will decrease and RP supporters would have a better ability to get delegates.

My opinion is here.

This was a badass segment and a great interview by Wead. I've always liked Maddow, not sure what it is about her.

Well, you must have missed her other segments. She has attacked Ron Paul like no other.

If nothing else it has cast the focus of the media on the strategy. Therefore it will be much more difficult for the GOP to try any shenanigans.

The campaign was kind of forced to bring it to light... for disheartened supporters and to make people realize we are in this to win this and we are doing well. We keep getting cheated out of popular vote wins, so the campaign needs to showe are viable and winning in what really matters.

I agree. Better to have it out in the open now so the media doesn't spin it later. The other candidates don't have real support who'd be willing to compete for the delegates.

Also, how encouraging is this news! If people hear this and now think Ron Paul has a shot then they may be willing to give him a serious look or even jump on board.

I am, however, just a bit perplexed as to why the campaign seems so willing to broadcast and highlight this strategy, partcularly so early in the process.

they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't have a reason, that's for sure.

my guess? they're changing the narrative. the media was trying to undercut any momentum Ron Paul is getting and this will energize the base. Calculated move. And most likely because the opposition can't do anything about it, since they don't have a passionate base like we do.

It's not like the Establishment didn't know this was our plan. They knew it 4 years ago, they know it now.

But they can't do anything about it, except, possibly, fraudulent activities like mystery caucuses, etc, because we're the ones showing up.

Makes me giddy.

Wow watching the video..I never thought about the idea that the primary was rigged for Romney with Florida being moved up, and Arizona and Nevada being moved up because of large LDS votes and southern states where he does poorly being proportional to help him as well...and telling people in Minnesota not to vote to allow anyone under 40 to be a delegate because they may be Paul supporters. These are some true scumbags. If you don't like your nominating process, change it next time..don't get all authoritarian undemocratic scumbags.

This. We may be outnumbered, but we are unmatched in terms of passion and knowledge. I would bet a lot of money that the majority of Romney/Grinch/Frothy supporters absolutely do not understand the delegate process, and even if they did, would be interested enough to become one.
Not surprising really, since they don't understand what is in their own self interest, since if they did they'd be voting for RP.

You know, I talk to a lot of folks about politics. Most seniors. They always say that they think that the statesman cannot win. They say that the youth won't show up. It's not that they don't understand that Paul is the most qualified and Conservative candidate. They think that they are wasting their time and vote in the hopes that you youngins will show up when the time to choose representation comes but then don't. Historically they have been correct. Historically, I have agreed with them.

It is good to see that a conscious effort is now being made by your group to make a genuine difference. And that's what it is, you know. A conscious awakening. And you're proving that you are capable of critical thought and planning. But you'll see many of the candidates who have dropped out as well as remain in the race today in future election cycles. Time is on your side but the question is will you finish the game? Liberty is a very long ride into the sunset. May take many years. But it is the question.

For now though, I'll just say good job and ode to the brain.

This strategy was employed in the 2008 campaign, but from what i can remember and my perception, it appeared lots of supporters bailed out early because of not winning a State, and failed on becoming involved in the delegate process.. Hopefully everyone, or most everyone understands this delegate strategy and steps up.

The REVOLUTION awaits you.

not sure what the purpose of explaining this so early in the process...why tell the everyone about this?? help me understand given the enemy your strategy...it is not like it is a trap or deception there is no other way to win...

I knew this was coming...the media will paint it like we are cheating and taking away from "the will of the people"

Yeah well fuck you media. PEW data shows you are depriving the people of fair media coverage this election cycle. Fucking Donald Trump got more coverage than our guy. So once again...fuck you media.

Is that enough "fucks"? Damnit I'm pissed.

Incredible interview for sure. Only thing better could be Doug Wead and Bruce Fein in the same interview :)

Because we're likely going to win Maine, and if we do, we'll be going into Super Tuesday with a huge win, and a storyline about having the most delegates, and the strongest organization to beat Obama. And it forces the GOP to react. If they choose to strip Paul of his delegates, all the better. Paul can then use the support to pursue the Americans Elect nomination while giving Rand Paul ample political cover - the GOP pushed Paul out.

Now is a good time to get this story out. It needs to get out before the primaries with enough time to sink in with the voters that Ron Paul is the delegate front runner going into Super Tuesday.
