We pay for bridges and harbors throughout the world and neglect our own. If we feel compulsion to spend and waste money, it would make more sense at least to waste it at home. We build highways around the world, raise gasoline taxes here, and routinely dodge potholes on our own highways.

Ron Paul is going to be remembered as the single greatest President of all time. Tomes will be written about him. This election cycle, and our role in it, will be the subject of political and media related books for a very long time.

And that sounds like hyperbole, but it is not.

Yes, it's old (obviously). I'm posting for newer members or people lurking who are new to Paul. This is what Paul stands for, this is why he left the House in disgust in the 80's. This highlights his integrity, his consistency and what he has been up against all these years. I read this and seriously cannot believe anyone would want to vote for someone else.

Reading this and studying Ron Paul's life, I truly think he is one of the greatest men to ever live. Some people would call that a crazy/cultish statement, but I really believe this to be the case. To take the stands he has for liberty when he believed there would be almost no chance of him having an effect is truly amazing.

Since I first came here in 1976, the number of lobbyists has doubled and the national debt has tripled — $550 billion to $1.59 trillion — to me a most impractical trend.

If only it were that tiny now...

True that. I was born only one year after this in 1985. If there audio/video of a speech Reagan gave in the 60s there should be at least audio of this speech. It had to have been recorded somewhere, right? Maybe not.

A speech by an unknown house member in 1984? Probably not. But, you never know. Maybe someone will dig it up.
