10-day Siege on TX starts in Austin Feb. 23rd

how big is this going to be? I mean Seriously

The capacity of the UT Mall is approximately 10,000 from what I've been told. I suggest that we fill it to capacity. But that will depend on whether the Ron Paul Revolution is going to go into a corner and sulk because McCain has so damned many pledged delegates, or whether they're going to join us in Austin for our last stand.

Remember the Alamo! It began on February 23rd. So does our last stand.

I have not called for a 1-day rally, I have called for a 10-day siege on Texas.

The organizer told the University that it will be 4,000 but that he's hoping for 6,000.

lol The organizer hopes for more like 9,000. He's posted in this thread coincidentally. :D

Seriously, if RP can get 8,000 or whatever at LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, surely we can rally at LEAST 9,000 people in a city with one of the largest universities in the US and the largest RP Meetup group.

Austin itself has around 65,000 people and it's within a few hours of three huge cities (Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio). If we can't get 20,000 people there we don't deserve to win.

Austin's bigger than that. I think the population of Austin/Round Rock/Georgetown is around half a million. UT has 50,000 students alone. From what one of my buddies has been telling me RP is the most visible candidate on campus.

UT belongs to RP and Obama. As of recently, I'd say more Obama than anything... it doesn't help with professors telling their students they should vote Democrat in the Primaries since their vote will "mean something" for the Democratic nomination this year.

BATTLE CRY!!!!!!!!!

Is Jimmy Vaughn bringing extra amps to energize everyone for Ron Paul's entrance? Signed up yesterday, so will be there with many others.

Strong left influence at UT? No way.:D jk

Things are fairly quiet down here as far as the election goes. I don't know what to say about the student population, but with the GHWB Library on campus, you can imagine the neo-conservative ideology is predominate.

Strong neo-con influence at A&M? No way! haha ;)

I have a ton of friends at A&M and they're always calling me about some Ron Paul stuff they see around CS.

Oh, yeah Austin's more like 656562. Hard to read without the comma. The surrounding cities and towns make up 5 million easy.

This seems like a win win. Either we get the GOP to take a closer look at Ron Paul and his ideals or the entire party falls apart leaving a void for either the Libertarian Party or the Constitutional party of some kind of combination of the two.

Funny, how the GOP is so slow to realize how out of step they are. It has been clear as a bell to the rest of us for a long time now!

The fastest way to effect real change in this country is to take over with another party completely rather than try to change the GOP. Let them fall apart! They should!

But I will be there for the march - if it is a march for Ron Paul only.

Yeah, Austin meetup groups are kicking ass.

;)

Seriously though. We're making this an all day event. 2-8pm. Ron Paul, Jimmie Vaughan, probably 3 more bands. The middle of Austin. I just heard a motorcycle gang will be escorting Dr. Paul through the city and onto campus.

I talked all my Obama friends into coming just for the music. We can fit at least 10,000 just on the main mall. We can overflow onto the south. Graduation is held there every year with an attendance of 37,000.

Parking details are on the website
