I guess Fox got what they wanted.

I don't think so. Any support that goes to Gary is support that doesn't go to Ron. Chances are they are searching him because they haven't heard of him before, but who knows what will happen in the polls.

I know a lot of guys around here like Gary, and I appreciate what he did tonight, but I do not want him gaining in the polls. The more support he has, the less chance he will drop out, and the more he takes from Ron in vital early states. I support Ron Paul.

well gary will eventually drop out or his supporters know he doesn't have a chance at the end. So if Ron Paul can somehow get in 2nd with Perry dropping in polls, they'll vote for Ron since Gary outright supported him. imo

Gary Johnson will NEVER overtake Ron Paul in the polls. It's not something to worry about. Gary Johnson gaining support is a good thing for Ron Paul, because when he does drop out and endorses Ron Paul, it will be as someone who had support, not a nobody.

I made some posts on facebook during the debates tonight and I got this response from an old college friend: "Perry's dead. Paul's the man if he can get around Romney. PS whose this Johnson cat? Havent ever heard of him until tonight."

Exactly LirvA, for Johnson to drop out and support Paul, we need Johnson to have a small but sizable base. Johnson can pull from people that like Cain and Romney because of their business experience. If the media highlights Johnson's business experience he will outshine Cain and Romney in that realm.

Johnson will also be able to grab the non-social conservative votes which make up about 30% that go to just about anyone and I think Romney is getting most of them because of his past flip-flops on the issues Romney just seems a bit safer for folks who aren't social conservatives.

GJ is proof (!) that a Ron Paul/libertarian executive can wrangle tax-n-spend legislative houses. I would hope he remains on the political stage and will gladly watch Gary in any future debates. I like having a second-choice candidate. Nobody else fills that gap. Support for liberty is multiplicative, Gary promoting freedom is a plus for the cause.

I can't believe I see some RP supporters jumping ship for GJ, you are only letting Fox News win.

Gary in the race can Promote Individual Liberty in a way Ron can not , from the exucutive side his record as Gov. of NM is outstanding in supporting The Citizens against a ever encroaching government control

Gary in the POTUS race is a net + for a Free People !

Wow. That's all I can say. If Gary gets traction, we won't win ANY of the early primary states. He's splitting RP's votes and potential votes. I like GJ too, but he's a BACK-UP, not who we are and should be focusing on.
Fox News REALLY knew what they were doing. GJ didn't fall for their bait, but he did take away airtime from RP and he did sound similar enough, plus having "the line of the night" even though it was someone else's. I just don't see anything good coming from this. :(

Supposedly Johnson ripped that "dog" comment off from Rush, who said it earlier that day. Just sayin'.

I'm sorry, let me get this straight, now we care about which constitutionalist gets in? I support Paul, but if Gary gets traction with the idiot NEOCONS, what is so wrong with that? ITs clear that Paul is hated by them, so if we can still get 1 of our guys in what is wrong with that? Don't shoot ourselves in the foot just because I support Ron Paul and no one else blah blah blah.....anyone who thinks Gary isn't helping us out is clearly delusional.
