1.4 Million March Against Gay Marriage in France

That really is a ignorant comment.I know you were attempting to sound witty so as too feed your pride, but as a Christian i find it disappointing that you have such a narrow judgement of ones faith. When you take pride in being associated as a libertarian, which is supposed to believe that a person can do whatever they want as long as that don't hurt someone else.Yet you belittle and demean anothers opinion simply because you disagree with it.

While i do look forward too heaven where all will be like minded, in that they value the fruits of the spirit love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control,i have a greater desire at the present and thats too put off my old man which was a slave to this world and put on the new, which is freedom in my mind.To be free is too not be a slave to this world, ruled by anger ,bitterness, fear, envy, greed in your mind.

I know youll say you were just joking around, but deep down you know you have the seed of anger and bitterness that controls you, thats why your first inclination of a response was to verbally belittle. You don't have to be a slave too it .Too think different than what you've become accustomed too for so long seems unnatural and maybe even scary, but you only think that way because you allow it.

the world of heaven and hell- with god as judge, leaves me with a view that life is a test of being righteous and staying on a true path to god. right or wrong?
heaven is a life after death. right or wrong?
we are born without sin. right or wrong?
if we are born without sin, it is the risk of life to loose our soul through bad choices. right or wrong?
thus, the quickest path to god is to die as a baby. right or wrong?

I was under the impression that the French supported the gays more than this. I've been misinformed. Not the first time.

This has nothing more to do with "Supporting the gays" than gun control has to do with "Supporting the children" or imperialism has to do with "Supporting the troops." Its all bullcrap. Granted, admittedly the gay marriage case is the least harmful of these but its still an epic strawman and untrue...

It is obvious you have never actually read the Bible, so making uninformed drive by comments makes you look foolish.

I was giving an honest assessment of what I see. if i'm incorrect, then i'd expect someone to correct me. but if i'm right, and I just butthurt someone- i'd expect your response.

And there you go with your presumptions again. You'll just never get it because you already think you know everything. You come on here and belittle other's views all the time and then when people don't want to get into a fruitless and stupid argument about what the bible says with someone who has probably never studied it, you think you know exactly why. What's worse is that you act like you have any insight whatsoever into how a Christian should think as if you were some sort of psychology genius who can say "this is how these people act" and "this is how you should respond to my comment". Like I said, get off your fucking high horse. I'm not here to tell you what Christianity is all about. I am here to tell you that you can't pretend to know how a Christian views the world by making an absurdly pretentious statement and then expecting everyone to calmly think you're just curious about how it REALLY works. Yeah, right. You're just being a pretentious prick, and so you will be treated like one.

I'm not even that devout myself, but people like you just piss me off.

They are mostly in favor of legal civil unions as an alternative to same-sex “marriage” and over the years their party has promoted homosexual rights and criminalization of “homophobic hate-speech”.

Dont see anything wrong with that. Marriage is religious institution between man and woman. Just like apple is apple and not orange. Gay are trying to force people to call marriage institution between anyone or forcing people to call apple orange. In this case gays are acting like aggressors. Do whatever you want with your life but get out of my bedroom my house and my church. Apple is not an orange no matter how you spin it how you push, whine, insult and lobby it to be.

Also keep in mind that this is not just about gay marriage. it is about lot more. Some of it was mentioned in article:

And as of Easter Sunday, abortion and contraception for under-age girls will be entirely funded by public money, making them 100% free.
.. and some of it was not mentioned at all.

Jewish and protestant representatives were allowed to speak, as was a member of the Muslim brotherhood.
Jean Smits/LifeSiteNews

No Catholic bishop was invited to speak even though the vast majority of participants identify with Catholicism, sociologically at least, and it is an open secret that Sunday’s turnout was largely due to the Catholic hierarchy’s support.

I wonder what will happen when socially conservative Christians in the U.S. realize they have something in common with Muslims on this issue? Exploding heads? It's funny to hear neocons on talk radio on the one hand bash gays and then on the other hand say "But don't people know that Muslim countries persecute gays?"

Even better than civil unions is reducing the government footprint on marriage until it is non existent (straightforward to do at least on the federal level and probably the state as well) and then let people create their own "civil unions" based on private contracts. Sadly we're moving in the direction of getting the government even more involved.

I mean that you don't see those kind of marches against gay marriage here in the U.S. It's getting to the point where it's pretty much accepted here. So I'm just saying that the U.S is more liberal on the gay marriage issue than France.

14 years of theological study. read the book many times. have learned the doctrine and beliefs of many people. and for each answer you declare wrong, you don't bother to say why its wrong, and what would be correct. perhaps it is you who hasn't read the bible? if i'm wrong, tell me the how/why.

Well I'm sure you are aware that there is no consensus on the questions you posed, specifically whether we are born without sin. That question has been debated ad naseum on the religion sub-forum and frankly your input would be welcome. (Admittedly I've seen you post there sometimes).

That said, assume your assumptions were all correct. That still doesn't mean Christians should welcome abortion. It's not just the souls of the unborn that have to be considered, but also of those performing the abortions and those willingly going along with them. And there are sins of omission as well as commission. Look at it another way. Babies in a nursery as just as innocent as the unborn. (Crying, peeing and pooping aren't sins). No one would feel justified in standing idly by while such children were slaughtered just because they might get a free ticket to heaven.

not that I disagree with what you are saying, but others are making what I said seem unreasonable, which it is not. not if people truly believed those planks I wrote as being true.
I understand the debate of original sin. though the argument that babies go to hell because they didn't accept jesus through a life commitment is a hard sell to the rational.

And not one accepted my all of Christianity. My faith (Mormon) believes that children are not help accountable for their actions until they are 8 years old, and that men must be punished for their own sins and not for adam's transgressions. We do not baptize until 8 years old. That being said, Life is still precious to Christianity. Abortion ends life, and is evil. We do not have the choice to decide when someone dies.
