Okay, question: Let's assume for a moment that President Obama is, in fact, not a legal US citizen. Why claim that he is, forge these documents, run him as president, etc. etc. If he isn't a citizen, who is gaining what from this? I'm not understanding the actual motive here.

Depends on how they do it. I know in Wisconsin the law will say (if it's not turned down) that you may not vote in your current district if you have lived there for less than 30 days. Considering the possible Walker vs whomever election timing, if a college student returns home for the summer...
