Greenwald's Views ("Decide for yourself if the 'libertarian' label applies")

Funny how HE is an ally (I think he is too), but Ted Cruz is a neocon.

Dems risk 'rising tide' of libertarian GOP 'led by Sen. Rand Paul'

I agree with this. The same holds true for Hispanics and blacks. Just eating at the edges of the Democrats' preponderance can lead to victory. The big problem though is Rand's weakness with women. If Hillary is the nominee, then the GOP might even lose white women.

Dems risk 'rising tide' of libertarian GOP 'led by Sen. Rand Paul'

People read their own wishes into the voting behaviour of certain groups. For libertarians, it's the youth. No matter who the GOP nominates, the youth will vote Democratic. This is significantly due to the higher proportion of minorities amongst the youth than in the broader population. However...

Rand Paul met with Judge Nap today....and took an awesome picture

They don't disagree on that much. They agree on social issues (Rubio has now said leave it to the states) and fiscal/economic issues. The only major disagreement is civil liberties and foreign policy, which will not be the core of Rand's campaign, and it isn't the core of Rubio's message either...

Rand Paul met with Judge Nap today....and took an awesome picture

Napolitano should go on the Supreme Court since he is less political than Mike Lee. Rand will definitely not pick a Ron Paul libertarian for VP. He will balance the ticket because that is what always must be done, especially since Rand will not come from the mainstream of the GOP or the country...

Ted Cruz: 'I don't trust the Republicans'

Heidi is far from a 'bankster'. I work at an investment bank, and you are really just a pawn until you are CEO, or depending on the firm, VP or partner. Her position earns her significant income, but her day-to-day life would be much the same if she worked as a regional manager at Taco Bell.

Rand-hater Santorum heavily considering 2016 presidential run

The attention people here give Santorum is amazing. He won't run because, even now, no one remembers him. He only became popular because the 2012 field was incredibly weak. 2016 will be a battle between titans.

Alex Jones: "I'm sold on Ted Cruz"

See, that's the main problem with forum-libertarians. What sounds like mainline conservatism, must therefore be. Do you think a guy who has railed against the Patriot Act and the NDAA is a neocon? Do you think a guy who, from the beginning, has associated himself with Lee and Rand is a neocon...

Alex Jones: "I'm sold on Ted Cruz"

He has never said anything interventionist. He just sounds like a mainline conservative on foreign policy (i.e. peace through strength), which rattles a lot of libertarians who want a liberal Democrat's rhetoric on foreign policy.

Alex Jones: "I'm sold on Ted Cruz"

Anyone who has followed Cruz knows that he is friendly and close with almost everyone in the conservative movement, regardless of their faction. His skill is that he unites all the factions, and all factions feel like they're on his side (except, obviously, the purerthanthou libertarian types).

Neocon Tom Cotton disagrees with Rand, confronted Cruz over drones at AEI summit

There is not much that can be done about Tom Cotton. He is probably fiscally and socially conservative enough not to generate opposition or a search for another candidate by the base, and he has swag like Allen West which will be eaten-up by some of the base. However, we should attack him (on...

[PIC] Rand Paul and Kelley at the Time 100 Gala

Kelley is going to have to carry the two during a Presidential campaign. I mean, Rand, please... how hard is it to dress properly, especially at TIME Gala. Just hire a consultant using your own money, PLEASE.

Hypothetical: If Rand doesn't run, would you support Ted Cruz?

That's constantly trumpeted but it's not true. Sustained big government was born prior to WWI, the 30s and the 60s. But of course many here consider a minor erosion of civil liberties equivalent to 17 trillion in debt and an enormous welfare population.

Hypothetical: If Rand doesn't run, would you support Ted Cruz?

I agree. I'd even support short-term appeasement of Iran and others until the debt is under control. But that's not what I'm saying. A lot of Ron Paul types who are first-and-foremost anti-war are really just from the blame America crowd and think every little conflict everywhere is blowback...
