I should have been more clear, I guess -- I believe that the goal of Plan B will be SecTreas; I agree that it'd be almost impossible to get. Ron as SecTreas with Rand still in the Senate would be awesome, though...Ron would have the national platform to speak on the issues that nearly everybody...

I think Plan B is SecTreas or something similar. I think much more would be gained by having Ron in a cabinet-level position than Rand as a VP.

During one of the debates Rand was asked specifically if he would support cuts to Ft. Campbell and Ft. Knox. His answer was no, but because they were both top-20 military bases. I do not know where he got this information.

To play devil's advocate, it's logically impossible to show "exactly" where it would save anything, given that in theory the earmarks will not exist. Taken to the extreme, you can say that even while passing a balanced budget amendment, you'd be unable to show "exactly" where that would save...
