You're welcome! Kentucky is the only state in the nation with an ObamaCare-supporting Governor running for re-election. And Kentucky burns much more federal tax money than it contributes. The nation needs to help straighten out Kentucky's fiscal mess in order to be able to balance the federal budget and get our country on the right track.

Is Phil Moffett a serious candidate?

How much money has he raised? Not trying to be an ass, but if you can't raise money or directly fill your campaign coffers up - you're screwed in a state-wide race.

He is running almost even in the polls with the establishment candidate career politician who has been running for governor for a quarter of a century. That's pretty serious. Candidates will report fundraising at the end of the year, but all the early indicators show Phil Moffett is worthy of this attention and worthy of your support.

Not the polls I've seen, but post a link, I'll check it out.


I like Moffett and many of the issues I've seen from him, but $ determines if he can attempt to play ball or not.... sad but true.

The only public polls of the race have been general election pairings with Beshear. The latest one shows Phil only four points worse than David Williams against the incumbent.

An internal from the other side or two....

The only public polls of the race have been general election pairings with Beshear. The latest one shows Phil only four points worse than David Williams against the incumbent.

You could probably poll Tim Profitt against Beshear and get a respectable number.

I guess we'll have to wait for a public poll between the GOPers, but if Moffett doesn't have money before that poll - to get his message to the voters - I'm not expecting him that close to Williams, but maybe Williams is that unpopular... Guess we'll see.

Williams and Farmer look like a ton of fluff, issues don't come to mind.

I've heard Phil speak several times and have been VERY impressed. He also seems to have most of the Ron/Rand/tea party folks uniting behind him... whether it's enough to win really depends on how hard we work!

But if we could pull it off, having a truly constitutional, states-rights kind of governor for Kentucky would be AMAZING.... especially coupled with having the best senator.

This is true, and a great point. I haven't paid any attention to the 2011 races, but I have no particular enthusiasm for Williams/Farmer. Time to turn my attention to Moffett it seems...

Let's not forget the other candidate in the race that goes further than just Hemp.

He also doesn't oppose private companies being allowed to run casinos.

Moffett from people I've talked to was not on board with Rand Paul until late in the game. Had a shot to help and didn't do much. In fact the first time he donated according to FEC reports was when Sarah Palin came to town.

So, it looks like Moffett may be more Palin than Paul.
