Glen has said before he's considered moving to a district that is more supportive, to get into public office again. I would think it won't be right away. This VP chair race was an expensive distraction from earning a living.
Yes, one thing pointed out to me at this convention is that we have a few people on the CENTRAL committee now. That is the "inner circle" committee which is by design is composed of party stalwarts.
The NCGOP almost had a train wreck tonight. If a second round of balloting had been required for VP, there was not a quorum to conduct it. They also had a computer go down during the chairman's balloting and needed to reboot and re-enter the vote totals in order to calculate "weighting".
There...
A few other rapid tweeters who may post updates Saturday.

Not much happens on Sunday other than the NC State Exec meeting. Usually it approves leftover resolutions from the main business, although occasionally some lively debates spring...
It was an interesting day. The "l"ibertarian wing is mainly interested in supporting Glen, so we did not come armed with a stack of items to try and pass. So instead many of us were getting up and taking sides on regular GOP issues and amendments.
The access-to-home-midwife amendment to the...
I think Glen got it covered. I had a third call this morning. This isn't like presidential phone banking across hundreds of thousands of voters. The convention will be about 1000 people.
Just got a second call, don't overdo it and piss people off....
As for Glen's competition, there were overtures at the county as district convention by endorsees. But overall, NC vice chair isn't a position that people feel like spending money on and driving all over the state to campaign. Your...
Right now, I think the NCGOP can stifle the story for the most part. Craven is a small county, they'll say it was a small number of hotheads at an unofficial meeting.
There isn't time for any other county to give proper notice of an exec meeting and hold it before the state convention, so...
The saga of "Tillis Lettergate" continues, and the Haymaker has the scoop

Right now I don't know what to think about it all. It probably makes sense that Tillis should meet with the people who have complaints about him, and maybe it would get smoothed over. But...
The 3rd district meeting will certainly bear watching. NORMALLY the party faithful will "fall in line" when told what is desired by the bigwigs and by elected officials.
But 3rd district is very unique because of how Walter Jones has been treated by Bohener. Plus there are long standing beefs...
I think it's a gang-related shooting. When 80,000 people gather someplace, that's the size of a small city in itself. Pretty likely that at least a few rotten apples will be there too.
People have been shot at the Labor Day and Independence day celebrations in Charlotte the past few years...
Mattie Lawson was a Tea party outsider that the party establishment did NOT want. I think they figured that the NCGOP had a strong enough advantage in enough other legislative races that they'd rather let a Dem win that seat, than someone who could not be "handled". Then take another shot at it...
He could win. Glen got about a third of the vote in 2008 for RNC committeeman, and nobody aside from the liberty underground knew who he was, and he was challenging a well known legislator who hailed from a district near the state capital.
Glen will clean the plate with delegates from the third...
