I'm a little late to this thread, but could I suggest as a starting point for developing a definition of "liberty" Hayek's definition in the first chapter of "The Constitution of Liberty"? I just started reading it and he goes to great lengths to establish it logically, as well as the...
After a quick look at the duties and responsibilities that the Constitution gives and allows the President, I'm wondering how we justify it as a full time position for ONE person. I bet the important stuff could get done one weekend a month, and two weeks a year.
I'm not looking for perfection. I'm just looking for a calendar that I can separate from my email provider, but still sync with my email client. I'll search man cal and see if that is a thing or a typo.
Thanks, by the way.
I run ubuntu on the desktop. Thunderbird has a calendar addon that connects to Google Calendar and will connect to other ones as well. Ideally what I'm looking for is an open source web-based calendar that does what duckduckgo does for search. Thanks to the recommendation. I'll look into it.
I'm slowly working my way through replacing Google/Android products with privacy-centric alternatives. I've spent most of today trying to find an alternative to Google Calendar. Ideally, it would be free, web based, sync-able with Mozilla Thunderbird Lightning addon as well as an Android app...
I was put in the same position as the OP the other night. I was told that all this talk about ending the Fed and gold-backed currency ignored the positive effect of velocity. He said that somehow, as the velocity increased, added wealth was added to the economy. $100 spent 10 times became...
The phrase speaks to the motivation of those who die while in service to their country. It isn't necessary for you to understand it. Or to agree with it. The subject matter is more complicated than can be addressed here. So I won't. I appreciate your view on the matter. I'm not going to...
I notice you waited until 1201 to post this. I wonder if you had the computer all spooled up and ready so you couldn't be accused of posting it on Memorial Day. But, I don't know. I can only guess.
Lucky for you, you don't have to celebrate anything at all on Memorial Day. I don't celebrate...
"Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's"
Read in context, I believe that the teaching points you toward your heart in the matter. Jesus was asked the question in an attempt to corner him. His answer forced to questioners to examine their own hearts about the matter. I would say that only...
Help With Schiff's Comic Book!
I realize this is an old thread. I also realize that most of the people who have been posting in the Economics & Sound Money forum are way smarter in things economic than I am, so bear with me a little and help me out with something, please.
I just read the...
Christianity without all the baggage.
Treat people as you would like to be treated.
Love God.
Understand that we all have free will, and that we will not accomplish the first two 100%.
Be thankful that God loves us any way.
Be motivated by that to do better than you were.
You can go a lot of...
I bought my house because I liked it and wanted to live there. I did not buy it as an investment of any kind. This is important to my point: my property value in terms of dollars is irrelevent to me.
Now, if I had bought my home as some kind of investment, then I would be concerned about...
I'm a bit new to all of this delegate business. How does one become a delegate? Why do I have 14 available votes, and only 11 Committed Paul delegates?
