YouTube Blacks Out "You Like Ron Paul, Except on Foreign Policy"

Hey I'd like to add a comment about this, it can save people grief and I've seen this exact same issue come up on a lot of RP videos.

CUT IT OUT WITH THE STUPID MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR IT AND IT ONLY DROWNS OUT THE THINGS RP SAYS IN THE VIDEOS

thank you had to get that off my chest, big pet peeve of mine that seems to be epidemic with RP videos in particular. What's with the apparently irresistable urge to add music to these things? It's totally unnecessary and just gives opponents a handle to censor them. Just yesterday I found what appears to be the only available video from the 2008 counter-convention... and the audio track was muted out because the idiot who put the video together added a completely unnecessary, and copyrighted, song in the background.

Here's a version that's still up.

Everyone needs to download this today and re-upload it to YouTube, to Facebook, Vimeo, Megavideo and every other video sharing website you can think of. Screw YouTube.

So re-cut it without music. Most of the music on these videos is overbearing and annoying anyway.

Watch the video again. There is hardly any music in the video and the little bit that is there is not at all overbearing! This is a BS stunt by YouTube. There are all sorts of videos where people have used the entire freaking song as a part of the Pokemon/Final Fantasy/Halo mashup and 99% of the time it stays up. In this case there are a few tiny bars of music that's unrecognizable as a complete song and YouTube uses it as an excuse to take the entire video down. Rather than attack the Patriots who made the video attack YouTube and fight back by re-uploading this video on multiple websites!

Has anyone done a video showing how blockades violate the non aggression principle and spur blow back?

This is how you fight back people! YouTube doesn't own the Internet. We own the Internet!

I just posted the same video to Dailymotion. Go and do thou likewise.

It's not a BS stunt. Youtube honors takedown requests and doesn't have time to investigate every request because there are so many. They just take the label's word for it. It is commensurate on the video's creator to file a dispute of the complaint and then they restore the video.

But the Magic Bullet Records isn't even involved with Explosions in the Sky

You're right it's This Will Destroy You who is in fact an artist on Magic Bullet, not Explosions In The Sky and the song is The Mighty Rio Grande. Still by using another artist's work without their permission they put themselves in a position where this might happen. Don't blame Youtube.

Yeah youtube only responds to the label claims, blame the label with an obvious agenda. Is there any way we could pay a small fee?

No need, this use of the song falls under Fair Use. The creator just needs to file a dispute, which can be done from the Videos management page on Youtube.

I know how YouTube works. I read the consent decree. And I still say this is a BS stunt. The amount that's in the video falls under fair use. But hey you're entitled to your own opinion. The way to fight this is to upload the video to sites other than YouTube which is what I just did. Why don't you help in this effort?

A couple reasons:
1. People are more likely to click Youtube links than links for other video sites.
2. I understand the dispute resolution process, it is very easy and it will be quite simple to get the video restored and protected against such claims.

Whoever made that clip needs to immediately release another one with different song that isn't copyrighted.
