You guys need to read this. "Rand Paul could stumble"

I saw that earlier today and read it as constructive criticism that I really can't disagree with. The campaign has done a very good job to this point, but I think David Adams could back away from the computer once in a while and take a look a what he's writing before he hits the send button.

Some of his comments have come off as junior high. This is not some obscure blog. This is a Senate race where EVERY word is disected.

In business, I've learned the hard way that you usually pay for knee jerk, reactionary, commentary when you're fired up about something and want to fire back.

At the very least Adams could log on to his "RandPaulSupporter2182" account to make comments like that.

If you're a Campaign Manager for a US Senate race, any sentance that includes a phrase like "butt kissing" should only be included in your personal diary;)

Not that I'm Mr. Perfect, but if I see another comment like that to the press, I'm sending the campaign mittens for Christmas.

My first reaction was wtf did he write that for, but then again this is politics... Was this done for a reason to seek a certain reaction by greystoned?

We need to get busy promoting December 16th!

yeah david adams is hurting us by doing this..

leave the chatter to us.

I have to agree. I'm not comfortable with that term to begin with, much less from an official member of the campaign.

Now this. A post on the front page of the official website mixing McConnell, with Pancakes:

The campaign guys need a stern talking to, and then a good night's sleep. The campaign is way off message. Way off tone. Way off of anything constructive.

I've never heard of a Campaign Manager writing something like the 'butt kisser' post.

Yeah, I just posted that over on the Peter Schiff forum "This is childish" by accident. Hopefully a moderator will move the post over here.

The U.S. Senate has the largest per capita butt-kissing anywhere on the planet.

Tracy, just FYI, if you want to make sure a moderator sees something, use the

button to bring it to our attention. We see a lot of the posts, but certainly not all of them and might not see a request you make within a post. :)

I agree, and now is a good time to reign it in. Grayson can't go crying fowl that he's being attacked becauase he would sound like an idiot "They say I'm a butt-kisser!"

On the other hand, slinging mud is an American tradition. Going back to the earliest days. It needs to be handled with tact. And rumors and accusations shouldn't be coming from anyone in the campaign.

The best thing for campaign staff to do is be positive, and honest about the issues. You let the politician have the zingers, and you leave the supporters to their mud pits.

I didn't like, however, the assumption that "Dr. Paul" (in this case Rand) supporters are "overzealous". That is a remnant of Ron Paul's campaign. As far as I can tell, we've all been perfect ladies and gentlemen. But it does prove me right from that other thread where I pointed out nothing we say or do, nothing Rand Paul says or does, nothing his campaign says or does will completely remove Rand from people's perception of Ron.

1. No more blog comments from Adams like that.

2. No more mentions of Jenkins on the campaign website; especially in relation to important news.

3. Tell our so-called allies to stop trying to undermine the campaign.

Rand Paul has been working hard to rightfully shed that deadly 'libertarian' label from himself that doesn't apply, and here comes our alleged friends at Nolan Chart with their high ranking and ability to appear on Google News to ruin it. Brings back bad memories of the 2008 campaign when Nolan Chart's constant stream of conspiracy crap about Diebold kept appearing on Google News searches for "Ron Paul". No dount they turned more people off than they brought in.

The campaign has an official article about "Pancakes". This is just wrong. It's OK for the grassroots to talk like that, but not for the official campaign.

If anyone is registered to post comments at randpaul.com, please go to
http://www.randpaul2010.com/2009/11/pancakes-wasnt-there/
and ask David Adams to stop sabotaging the campaign.

I'm afraid the possibility of self-destruction is becoming reality before our eyes. I think this Adams guy made too many mistakes. Now it's 3 that I know of. He should be fired.

ugh

The campaign needs to start establishing Rand's bio with the voters ASAP because they are giving the opposition a lot of material to do so themselves.

David Adams should not be fired. Rand is leading in the polls for Christs sake. But the Paul campaign can't try and respond to every little thing the Grayson campaign throws out there. Pick and choose. And when you do chose, respond in deliberate, respectful, and damaging fashion.

Leave the pancakes, and buttkissing, and everything else to us here grassroots.

This stuff needs to be toned down. From what I can tell Rand is leading because he sticks to the issues. Starting a tit for tat war with the Grayson campaign helps nothing. All it will do is stir strong bitterness in the Grayson voters we NEED to win in the fall. This isn't highschool or a frat party any more. Grow up.
